AVIA and W&S Motorsport continue their successful partnership

W&S Motorsport and AVIA will enter their third season together in 2024. After two very successful years of collaboration, culminating in AVIA W&S Motorsport winning the team championship in the ADAC GT4 Germany 2023, Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas' racing team and the energy retailer and petrol station operator from Munich will once again go on the hunt for the title together next season.

In the future, one Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in the unmistakable AVIA racing design will compete in the ADAC GT4 Germany and go on a title defence mission. In the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), the AVIA racing Porsche 992 GT3 Cup will fight for the crown and compete in the fiercely contested Cup2 class of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN). The drivers who will pilot the cars from Weissach will be announced at a later date.

W&S Motorsport and AVIA are not only pulling together on a sporting level, but also when it comes to sustainability. The AVIA racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is already fitted with biofibre parts and the use of sustainable fuel in international racing series has become indispensable. In addition to other measures that W&S Motorsport has been successfully implementing for several years, a concept is to be developed and implemented together with AVIA in order to further reduce the CO2 footprint of AVIA W&S Motorsport and become even more sustainable off the racetrack.

In the ADAC GT4 Germany 2023, AVIA W&S Motorsport claimed four overall victories, finished second and third overall three times, took eight class wins and six class podiums and started from pole position four times. In eleven out of twelve races, an AVIA W&S Motorsport car was the fastest Porsche in the field. In addition to the team title, the drivers from the Ofterdingen-based racing team also finished third in the Drivers', Junior and Trophy championships. In the 2023 NLS season, the drivers from AVIA W&S Motorsport stood at the top of the podium in the class twice and took four more class podium positions.

Werner Ressel, AVIA Marketing and Brand Specialist Sponsoring: "We, as Deutsche AVIA, value the successful partnership with W&S Motorsport and are enthusiastic about the positive impact that our sponsorship commitment has on our objectives. The extension of the contract offers us the opportunity to continue on our successful path together in order to anchor our brand even more firmly in the target group. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and a successful new season in sporting terms."

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: "We are delighted that our co-operation is already entering its third season and would like to thank AVIA for the trust they have placed in us. It's great to have a strong partner like AVIA at our side, who has the same goal as we do: To be successful! The highlight of our collaboration was winning the team championship in the ADAC GT4 Germany 2023 and we want to repeat this success next season. We also want to add more titles in the drivers' championships. To achieve this, we will pool our resources in the ADAC GT4 Germany and NLS and invest in strong driver line-ups. Together, we want to achieve top results again and celebrate further championships in all racing series with AVIA!"
