North America and USA West Meet at VIR

Round 3 of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America took place today at Virginia International Raceway. VIR features 17 turns for a total of 3.27 miles through the beautiful Virginia hills. This weekend features 4 races with two of them occurring on Saturday.

The GT3 Cup featured a mixture of 992 and 991 cup cars racing against each other in a single field. Efrin Castro claimed victory in the North America 992 class and finished 2nd overall with a 1.768 gap over 2nd place finisher Uretsky. Uretsky who took 2nd in the 992 class also took 3rd overall. Rounding out the North American 992 class podium was Chris Bellomo who took 5th overall.

On the USA West GT3 Cup side of the series stood Chris Bellomo who won the 992 class. The USA West 991 class was won by Paul Nemschoff who also finished 7th overall. Taking 2nd was Ely who finished 16th overall. Finishing up the podium in the 991 class was King who took 21st overall.

The North America Cayman saw a new face atop the podium with Christian Weir winning Round 5. In 2nd place was Smith followed by Eyme taking 3rd.
