Porsche Customer Teams ready for second round of the NLS

After snowfall during the formation lap made the season opener of the Nürburgring long-distance series impossible to start three weeks ago, the forecasts are looking good for both the weather and the 147 race cars that will finally see the start of season on there first outing around the Green Hell with majority of race cars making up the GT3 class SP9.

20 cars in the top class from Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche will be fighting for the day's victory.

Eight Porsche 911 GT3 R’s in total will be competing for the overall win with two cars entered by Falken Motorsports followed Frikadeli Racing Team who will also be entering two cars. Series favourites and masters of the Green Hell Manthey Racing GmbH will be entering just the one car along with Rutronik Racing, Huber Motorsport, and KCMG.

In the highly occupied cup class seven Porsche 911 Cup cars will go head-to-head in a battle that usually brings some very exciting close racing.

In the sixth year of the Cayman GT4 Trophy by Manthey-Racing and to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the meuspath racing stable, the class celebrates a record starter field. Thirty-three Porsche Caymans in total will make up the filed. For Four Motors, Simona De Silvestro pilots a Porsche Cayman GT4 in the class of alternative fuels.

Race two of the Nürburgring long-distance series also takes place under special conditions due to pandemics.

Spectators at the racetrack are not allowed, the paddock has only a limited number of people per team. All team members entering the paddock must demonstrate a negative Corona test. There is a general obligation to wear masks on the entire event area and people are required to observe distance and hygiene rules. The event was organised in advance in such a way that contacts are minimized. For the NIMEX 45th DMV 4h race, the procedure for submitting Corona test results and ticketing to drivers and team members will be completely digitized and implemented contactless.

The race will live stream on VLN.de, YouTube and Facebook will show the racing events from the Green Hell from 08:30 – in 2021 at all races by the way with spectacular live images from the ROWE-Heli and live Twitter updates on the Porschesport Twiter Page.
