Duckhams Yuasa Racing battling for titles on three fronts ahead of penultimate Porsche weekend

Duckhams Yuasa Racing is set for the penultimate weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, as the series heads to Silverstone (September 22-24) for two races on the short and exciting National circuit layout.

Coming into the event, the team is just 21 points off the top spot in the Entrants’ Championship, Harry Foster is a mere two points behind the Rookie Championship leader, while Adam Smalley has a commanding 37-point lead atop the Pro standings, with only 52 points left to play for.

Porsche GB Junior Driver and BRDC SuperStar Adam has had an extremely consistent campaign, finishing on the podium in 11 of the 12 races so far, scoring three victories in the process. Harry, a BRDC Rising Star, has scored points in his last seven races and has outscored the Rookie leader by 23 points over the past two meetings, bringing that title within grasp.

Both drivers had a productive day in an official Porsche test at the circuit at the end of August and will head out for two free practice sessions on Friday, September 22nd, before qualifying the following afternoon. There will be two 30-lap races around the 1.6-mile layout on Sunday, 24th, at 12:10 and 16:15 – both of which also being shown live on ITV4.

Adam Smalley

“Silverstone National is a pretty cool little track which closes everything up. You're searching for thousandths and hundreds around there, rather than tenths, but I'm looking forward to it. We had a good race day last year and fought back through the pack. Our pace seemed strong, and Kiern Jewiss' for Team Parker last year was phenomenally quick, so I'm confident about our chances. We'll have one goal in mind, which is to win the championship.”

Harry Foster

“I think Silverstone will be good and there'll be some good racing. We've had a couple of tracks where it's all about qualifying as there's not much opportunity to overtake in the race, so I imagine Silverstone will be quite fun in that sense. Qualifying will be so close on such a short track, so not messing anything up will be quite crucial. You'll have to be precise, so that'll be important but, I'm finding a bit more time now, so I'm a bit more optimistic. It'll be fun to race there.”
