For us, this was an important step forward

Best result of the season for the Porsche 911 RSR with the starting number 93 used by Proton Competition in the European Le Mans Series: Michael Fassbender (Ireland), Richard Lietz (Austria) and Felipe Fernandez Laser (Germany) took fourth place in the four-hour race at the Red Bull Ring after a strong catch-up. In the second Porsche 911 RSR of the successful team from the Swabian town of Ummendorf, Christian Ried (Schönebürg), Cooper MacNeil (USA) and Matt Campbell (Australia) finished sixth in difficult weather conditions in Styria. Their starting number 77 had started the season with a second place in Barcelona.

Michael Ried, team owner and technical director: "This was a strong race of our starting number 93. When heavy rain started at the beginning of the second half of the race, it was not easy to keep the car on the track. But our drivers made no mistake. They deserved a podium. This fourth place is good for confidence."

Christian Ried (Porsche 911 RSR #77): "This first race with Cooper and Matt was not easy. But unlike many competitors, we managed to keep our 911 RSR on the rain-drenched piste and still make good positions in the final phase. I'm sure we'll be back at the top in Monza."

Cooper MacNeil (Porsche 911 RSR #77): "This was my first race with the Porsche 911 RSR in the European Le Mans Series and a little taste of what awaits me in this busy championship. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get our full potential today."

Matt Campbell (Porsche 911 RSR #77): "After the long safety car phase due to the rain shower, I ran out of time in the last hour of the race. I was able to overtake some cars, but of course we would have liked to have landed further ahead. I hope we can do that in the next race."

Richard Lietz (Porsche 911 RSR #93): "Despite the difficult conditions, this was an important step forward for us today. The road to the first podium is not far away, and that makes us confident for the rest of the season. When the rain was the worst and one car after another ended up in the gravel bed, Michael did a really good job. Compliment, it wasn't easy.'

Michael Fassbender (Porsche 911 RSR #93): "We were hoping for rain. But when this heavy shower set in and the water stood all over the piste, I thought: For heaven's sake, what did we want? At this stage, it was all about not losing the car. Fortunately, I have succeeded in doing so. I am very pleased with this good result."

Felipe Fernandez Laser (Porsche 911 RSR #93): "We were well on the way to the podium. The fight with the Ferrari in the last laps was really fun. It's just a pity that it wasn't enough for the podium."
