Puresims Esports and PorscheSport deliver spectacular duels

The first virtual race of the Creventic Endurance Series on the iRacing platform was marked by spectacular duels between PorscheSport and Puresims Esports, with PorscheSport eSport claiming victory by the smallest of margins after 12 hours of racing at spa-francorchamps.

After turning the fastest lap in qualifying for the GT4 class, Jacob Tofts for PorscheSport eSports controlled the pace from pole position. Tofts, with a superb drive through the bus-stop chicane was able to ease the pressure from Ashley Finch in the Puresims Esports Porsche 718 Cayman and the BMW of AXA Simsport.

As the race continued driver changes would become a talking point throughout the 12 hours. Tofts was able to stretch out a small lead on the chasing pack before handing the car to his teammate Chris Walsh. With a huge amount of pressure and class behind, Walsh was unable to maintain the gap and viewers were witness to some spectacular battles, as the Puresims Esports car was able to chase down the PorscheSport eSport driver, and take 1st position on many occasions during the 12 hours.

With unfortunate incidents down the field, it soon became apparent the GT4 victory would come down to a two horse race. The remaining four hours showcased superb pace from Ian Gagnon-Renaud and Ashley Finch in the Puresims Esports Porsche, whilst Chris Walsh found more pace before handing back to Jacob Tofts for the final run.

The final hour of the race was arguably some of the closest racing throughout the 12 hours. The two leading Porsches, bumper to bumper, with Puresims Esports leading. In the closing moments Tofts was able to challenge Gagnon-Renaud and hold onto a race victory in the GT4 class in the Creventic Endurance Series.

Jacob Tofts, PorscheSport eSports: "Wow, that was a very close race. We're so happy we could put on a great showing for the viewers watching on RaceSpot TV. The battle with Puresims Esports was very intense and amazing to see how close we were at the end. Ultimately we're happy for Porsche to have two cars showcasing the brand. Chris (Walsh) did a super job, I would say we we're slightly under prepared for the race as it's been a very busy week of motorsport for us both. Chris found more pace through the race and I was happy with our lap times as a team. We're looking forward to the next round and more great battles on track."
