Steve Caroli ready for second race weekend in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

After an instructive opening weekend, Steve Caroli is ready for his second race weekend in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup as part of the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland.

Three weeks after the season opener at Hockenheim, the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland will resume at the Nürburgring. Steve Caroli from the Erzgebirge will once again drive a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for SEEBACH Motorsport. The real estate entrepreneur will compete in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3 and the Porsche Endurance Challenge.

The 2022 champion of the Porsche Endurance Challenge celebrated his debut in the new car at Hockenheim. There he shared the car with Marc Basseng, a former FIA GT1 World Champion. The duo finished the race in the Endurance Challenge in third position in class after a questionable decision by the stewards. "On my onboard camera, you can clearly see that I was overtaken under safety car conditions. Unfortunately, the sports stewards rejected our protest and we keep the third position," said Caroli. He finished the two races of the Sprint Challenge in tenth and ninth place after time penalties.

Now it's time for the second race weekend for the 911 GT3 Cup newcomer. Dominik Schraml, his regular partner and driver coach, also returns after he was unable to accompany Caroli at Hockenheim due to a clash of dates. Schraml has a crazy double weekend ahead of him, because at the same time he will take part in the two "Road to Le Mans" races as part of the support programme of the legendary 24-hour race in France. After the second race run on Saturday morning, he will travel to the Eifel to accompany Caroli and compete in the Endurance Challenge race with him.

"At Hockenheim, I was able to learn a lot about handling the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The vehicle is the complete opposite of the Cayman I've driven so far," says Caroli about the vehicle change. "Many thanks to SEEBACH Motorsport, who made the switch as easy as possible for me! The team gives 110% as always and I would like to thank you for the work from the bottom of my heart."

Steve Caroli, whose goal is to gain promotion to the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, has set himself ambitious goals for the upcoming race weekend. "In the Endurance Challenge race, I have the clear goal of fighting for class victory with Dominik! I'm hoping for rain for the two sprint races, to be honest, then it should look better than it did last time at Hockenheim."

The two half-hour Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3 races will take place on Saturday at 14:45 and on Sunday at 11:10. At the end of the race weekend on the legendary circuit in the Eifel, the one-hour race of the Porsche Endurance Challenge starts on Sunday at 15:50. All races will be broadcast in the official live stream on YouTube.
