Kart Allocation and Mechanical issues

Karts will be allocated randomly to each team.

Each kart will have a full service check before allocation by TeamSport staff.

There are limited spare karts available.

Teams will only be able to change your kart once during the whole event (including practice and the race). You will not be able to swap back into your original kart should you decide to change karts.

Mechanical issues that prevent a kart from returning to circuit may occur. If this scenario arises, a replacement kart will be given to the team.

Teams are reminded, this is an endurance race not a sprint. Look after your kart to the best of your ability.

Mechanical issues often come with endurance racing. Please remember this cannot be foreseen.

Drivers

Drivers wishing to compete in the event must be named on the Team Submission form, at the latest 5 days before the start of the event. PorscheSport strongly advises all drivers to have reasonable track knowledge and understanding of endurance racing.

A minimum of Three drivers and maximum of 6 drivers must be submitted.

All drivers must complete 2 laps in the open practice and qualifying.

All drivers must agree to TeamSport Terms & Conditions

Race Start Procedure

Drivers will line up on the start/finish line in qualifying positions.

Drivers will begin the start procedure under Full Course Yellow conditions.

The pace will be set by the pole sitter.

All drivers must remain in single file until they cross the start/finish line

Drivers cannot overtake until they pass the start/finish line.

Pit stop procedure

A Driver change may be completed at any time, with the exception of a red flag.

Drivers must complete a driver change in a safe and controlled manner under strict pitlane speed. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

Before exiting the pitlane, the driver will be permitted to demonstrate they can perform a controlled brake check.

When exiting the pit-lane, drivers must ensure the exit is clear. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

Driver swaps are not permitted under a scheduled refuelling/service stop. Penalty will be applied for failure to comply.

Please be respectful of all TeamSport personnel working in the pitlane. Failure to do so will result in penalties.

The kart will be inspected for any issues on refuelling stops. Should an issue be seen by a mechanic, you may be asked to swap into another kart.

Penalty for infringement to general discipline and safety rules

We will in most cases follow the rule structure provided by TeamSport in the driver briefing. Alongside those rules we will also be implementing penalties for:

  •  overtaking and/or gaining an unsporting advantage under yellow/red flags

  • non-observance of flags

  • collision caused by the driver

  •  unsporting conduct.

  • gaining an unsporting advantage in the pit-lane

  • performing a driver swap during refuelling or service stop

All Penalties left to the Stewards' discretion.

Refuelling and Service Stop procedure

Each team will be required to enter the pits for at least one refuelling stop.

Stewards will inform a driver of the required refuelling stop by waving a orange flag. The refuelling window will open approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes into the race. Teams/Drivers cannot request a refuelling stop, this will only be issued in a random order by the stewards.

A driver has 2 laps in which he must return to the pit lane once presented with the orange flag. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

Teams are not permitted change driver during a refuelling or service stop. Penalty will be applied for failure to comply.

A refuelling stop will be a minimum of 3 minutes from the kart coming to a controlled stop in the pitlane. This will be timed by our pitlane steward.

Stewards may also issue the orange flag to indicate a service stop. Given the nature of endurance racing, issues are likely to arise with the karts. By competing in the event you understand the possibility for unexpected issues that may rise.

There is no minimum time limit for a service stop.

During this phase:

Only the driver is permitted in the pitlane.

The driver must return behind the designated barrier whilst all work and refuelling is carried out by the stewards.

The driver must only return to the kart once signalled by the stewards.

Placing the race under FCY

The Race Director may declare a Full Course Yellow period if he decides that this is necessary for safety reasons.

Once under FCY, cars will slow down to walking pace, in single file, and maintain their distance to the car in front and the car behind.

Overtaking is strictly prohibited under the FCY, except if a car slows down with an obvious problem.

All marshal posts will display a waved yellow flag.

Any kart driven faster than walking pace, erratically or in a manner deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers at any time whilst the FCY is in use, will be issued a penalty. This will apply whether any such car is being driven on the track, the pit entry road or the pit lane exit road.

The pit lane entry and exit remain open and teams are free to pit.

Penalties

It shall be at the discretion of the Stewards to decide, whether a driver or drivers involved in an incident should be penalised.

There will be two flags used during the race to indicate penalties.

A ‘Black & White’ Flag mate issued as a warning to a driver. The driver is to continue racing.

A solid ‘Black’ flag issues to a driver is a penalty which MUST be served in the pitlane.

Decisions from the Stewards is final.

It is important to note. If a driver serves a penalty, they will automatically lose one lap due to the nature of the timing beam at the venue.

it is in a drivers best interest to drive safely and fairly with other competitors.

Black & White Flag

Stewards may issue a ‘Black & White’ flag at marshall points to a driver. This is to issue a warning to the driver for a minor offence. Should the driver receive multiple ‘Black & White’ flags, the driver will serve a penalty.

Stop & Go

Once the Stop & Go penalty has been issued by a blag flag, the driver us return to the pit lane within two laps.

The Stop & Go is completed in the pitlane. The kart must come to a complete stop and may be released either immediately, or if a Stop & Go with time penalty is specified, the car must remain motionless for this time until indicated to leave the pitlane.

After the Stop & Go, the car must showcase a brake check and then be able to rejoin the track.

1. Driver Removal

Persistent failure to comply to the rules or unsporting behaviour may result in the driver been removed from the kart.

Drivers whom are removed from the kart are to return to the spectator area and may not be able to participate further in the event.

2. Team Removal

Persistent failure to comply to the rules or unsporting behaviour from a numerous drivers in one team may result in the team been removed from the event. No refund will be given
