Rutronik Racing with international line-up in GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup

Rutronik Racing is delighted to announce the first driver duo for the 2025 season in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup. This year, the team from Remchingen will again be competing in all ten race weekends of the world's strongest GT series with two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs.

At the five events of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup, one Porsche will start in the Pro class and one in the Silver Cup. The Silver Cup car will be driven by Eshan Pieris from Sri Lanka and Loek Hartog, who is entering his second season with Rutronik Racing.

The 26-year-old Pieris will be making his debut in European racing this year. Eshan Pieris is already familiar with the Porsche 911 GT3 R from last year, when he competed in the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS with the car. In the Silver Cup, he finished the season in second place in the championship and claimed three class victories in the strong field of the Asian championship.

‘I'm very much looking forward to starting my journey with Rutronik Racing and working with Loek in 2025. I believe we are a strong team and can work together towards victories,’ said Pieris, looking forward to the season with Rutronik Racing.

The tall Dutchman Loek Hartog is entering his second year with the Porsche team. In 2024, he drove with Rutronik Racing in the Bronze Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup and took class victory at both the Nürburgring and Jeddah. The 22-year-old also celebrated great success in the Cup Porsche last year, winning the title in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America in the USA. Hartog and his team-mates also won the 12-hour 992 Endurance Cup held at Spa-Francorchamps.

Loek Hartog ahead of his second year with Rutronik Racing: ‘Joining Rutronik Racing for a second year in GT World Challenge show’s a testament to our believe in each other and joint commitment from the foundation we build last year. The product and environment I will be racing in will be familiar but the GT World Challenge Sprint format is going to be new for me. The aim for the season is to win the Silver Class title together with Eshan and show my personal capabilities to make the leap from Silver to a factory contract in 2026.’

Team Principal Klaus Graf is looking forward to working with the two drivers: ‘We welcome a very promising talent to Rutronik Racing in Eshan Pieris. Eshan has already proved his talent in the Porsche 911 GT3 R in Asia and we are convinced that, together with top talent Loek Hartog, he will be in with a chance of winning the Silver Cup sprint title. Loek was very successful for Rutronik Racing last year and we are delighted that he will continue to develop with Rutronik Racing. It was important for us to have a strong pairing in the highly competitive Silver category. With Loek and Eshan, we have definitely achieved this."

The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup will be held over five weekends between May and September throughout Europe. The season kicks off at the historic British circuit of Brands Hatch near London, followed by events in the Netherlands, Italy, France and Spain. Each event features two one-hour sprint races.
