Danny Stutterd to Make Carrera Cup Return in Sydney
Experienced Porsche racer Danny Stutterd will make his return to the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Championship in 2025 with TekworkX Motorsport.
Stutterd first joined TekworkX in 2022, and has represented the team across both levels of one-make Porsche Racing in Australia and in the 2024 Bathurst 12 Hour, where the team claimed a class podium on debut aboard an IRC GT.
While yet to complete a full season in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992), Stutterd has raced his way to four podium finishes across the last two years in Carrera Cup. In Sprint Challenge the 2018 Pro-Am Champion has also claimed six race wins since 2022 across a selected campaign.
For 2025 Stutterd will return to the Carrera Cup field and plans to contest four of the season’s eight round calendar – Sydney, Australian Grand Prix, Bathurst and Adelaide.
Stutterd’s return was incentivised by a tweaked ruleset for the new year. In 2025 selected competitors, at the category’s discretion, will run as Pro-Am Masters and will be allowed to utilise ABS, which has previously been unavailable in Carrera Cup Australia.
“I’ve known Rob and the team at TekworkX for a while now, and it’s always a great environment to not only race well but to enjoy ourselves,” said Stutterd.
“The change of rules with the ABS has led to me coming back to the category, and I’m keen to go out and race as hard as I can and see if we can be as competitive with the nuances of an improved car.
“I’m there to enjoy myself with these first two rounds at the marquee events and tick off another box in Porsche racing,” conclude Stutterd.
The 2025 season kicks off with the opening round at the Sydney SuperNight from February 21-23.
