Absolute Racing Confirms Two-Car Porsche Entry for 2025 GTWCA
Absolute Racing will field two Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 992) entries in the 2025 season of the GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS, with two new driver pairings.
In the #321 Absolute Racing Porsche, the Silver-Am class entry will be shared by series newcomer Li Xuanyu and former Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champion Daniel Lu Wenlong. Both Chinese drivers are no strangers to Absolute Racing, having represented the team on multiple occasions. Li Xuanyu competed in last season’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, and also partnered with Daniel Lu in a GT3 entry at the Bangsaen Grand Prix as part of the TSS Super Series headline event.
Daniel Lu, a former Porsche China Junior, first linked up with Absolute Racing in 2017, finishing runner-up in the Formula Masters Asian Series. The partnership continued into the following season in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. While Daniel Lu has made a handful of appearances in the series over the years, 2025 will mark his first full-season campaign in GT World Challenge Asia.
The #911 Absolute Racing Porsche will be driven by Wang Zhongwei and Patrick Pilet in the Pro-Am class. While Wang Zhongwei is new to Absolute Racing, he brings solid GT and single seater experience, having competed in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, as well as the Formula Regional Middle East and Japan championships. The Chinese Bronze-rated driver has been a consistent figure in domestic GT racing, having finished ninth in the Pro-Am class last season.
Patrick Pilet, a long-standing Porsche factory driver since 2008, needs little introduction. The Frenchman boasts an impressive CV, with class victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans, and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. He is also an overall and race winner in the GT World Challenge Asia.
