After bad luck by championship leader Caruso: title decision completely open again

Slipstream duels and numerous lead changes marked the ninth round of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup at Le Mans. On the long straights of the circuit known from the 24-hour race, Sebastian Job tackled the most skilfully in the sprint: The Briton from the Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports team secured victory. The main race was won by Frenchman Yohann Harth in the virtual Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the Apex Racing Team. Championship leader Jordan Caruso lost a large part of his lead: The Australian from the Altus Esports team finished the sprint in seventh place and scored only two points in the main race after a collision.

Dramatic turnaround in the battle for the title in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup: On the virtual "Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans", the hitherto superior leader of the standings, Jordan Caruso, of all people, was one of the unlucky ones. The Australian Altus Esports driver had gone into the ninth of ten rounds of the season with a 78-point lead. In the sprint, Caruso finished only seventh, while victory went to his closest rival, Britain's Sebastian Job of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports team. In the main race, Caruso was involved in a collision shortly before the finish and lost a possible podium finish. As a result, his lead over Job shrank to just 37 points. At the finale in Monza, Italy, in two weeks' time, Zac Campbell (USA/VRS Coanda) and Alejandro Sánchez (E/Stormforce Racing ART) are also mathematically still among the championship candidates.

A three-way battle between defending champion Diogo C. Pinto (P/Team Redline), who started from pole position, Sánchez and Job marked the three-lap sprint on the 13.62-kilometre circuit. The leadership changed several times. In the end, Job won ahead of Pinto and Sánchez, who followed in the slipstream.

Numerous overtaking manoeuvres, which were occasionally very resolutely led out of the slipstream, also determined the main race over six laps. Italy's Alessandro Bico (Williams Esports), Charlie Collins (VRS Coanda) from Great Britain and France's Yohann Harth (Apex Racing Team) often took turns at the front several times per lap. Right behind them, Jordan Caruso and Sebastian Job were waiting for their chance, separated by Alejandro Sánchez. In the end, Harth was able to prevail over Sanchez by less than 0.2 seconds and thus celebrated his first victory in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup. Caruso was slightly pushed just before the finish and spun off the track. The Australian continued the journey, but had to settle for 24th place. Job crossed the finish line in eighth place.

Casey Kirwan wins Allstars title early With victory in the main race of the Allstars
, Casey Kirwan secured the content creator championship just one race before the end of the season. Previously, the American had to park his virtual Porsche 911 RSR in a sprint over five laps after a spin. Thanks to the reverse starting order for the main race, however, this flushed him into pole position. However, he was only able to enjoy the lead for a short time: a slow-down penalty dropped him back to fourth place after just a few kilometres. Kirwan then used all his slipstream experience from virtual NASCAR races on the long straights of the "Circuit des 24 Heures" and worked his way back to the front. In the fifth of six laps, he took the lead again, at the finish his lead over the German Daniel "Dan Suzuki" Sosulski was over two seconds.

Spaniard Pablo "ThePulpoLópez" López and Tyson "Quirkitized" Meier will be battling for second place in the overall standings at the season finale in Monza in two weeks' time. The defending champion from the USA won the sprint race ahead of López at Le Mans and finished third in the main race.

PESC finale in Monza: Decision in the "Temple of Speed"
The Porsche TAG Heuer will make a guest appearance at the finale Esports Supercup (PESC) in two weeks in northern Italy. The Autodromo Nazionale in Monza is one of the fastest race tracks in the world. This earned the 5.793-kilometre circuit the nickname "Temple of Speed". For the drivers of the virtual Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, too, the skilful exploitation of every available slipstream is the key to success in the sprint and main races.

In Monza, the content creators will also contest their season finale, which consists of two rounds. The Allstars will then compete for the first time with the Mission R, an electrically powered concept racing car from Porsche. Live streaming of the All-Star races will start on June 3 from 20:00 (CEST) on www.twitch.com/porsche and https://www.youtube.com/@Porsche.

Quotes after the race
Sebastian Job (UK/Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports): "I knew my speed on the straights wasn't the best today. I think we all drove with minimal downforce. So I had to be brave when braking."

Yohann Harth (F/Apex Racing Team): "Teamwork was the key to success today. Alejandro Sánchez from our sister team Stormforce Racing ART really pushed me to victory. It wasn't agreed, it was purely instinctive."

Alejandro Sánchez (E/Stormforce Racing ART): "On the last lap, Yohann and I showed great teamwork. I had to struggle with understeer throughout the race. That's why I'm happy that, despite a few incidents around me, I was able to catch up with the leading group again on the last lap. I'm also very happy for Yohann, who took his first victory."

Charlie Collins (UK/VRS Coanda): "It feels like an eternity since I last stood on the podium in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup. I am very happy. At the beginning of the last lap, I thought I was in a good position for victory. In the end, I probably went a little too aggressively. That's why it wasn't quite enough to win."

Casey Kirwan (USA): "It was a very nice season that was a lot of fun with the whole group of content creators. There is still one race to go, then we drive the Mission R from Porsche. It's probably going to be a pretty wild race because none of us have too much experience with this electric car."
