Lowered track stops Marc Halusa

Since the Porsche Endurance Challenge race at the Red Bull Ring had to be stopped prematurely due to a lowered track, a better race result for Marc Halusa was prevented.

The third event of the season in the Porsche Endurance Challenge is behind Marc Halusa. In the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport fielded by SEEBACH Motorsport, the Porsche Zentrum Leipzig driver contested the third race weekend at the Red Bull Ring together with Philip Schauerte.

Curious pictures even before the start of the race weekend: Floods hit the track on Thursday evening while the teams were setting up their equipment. Due to the necessary track cleaning, the test day on Friday was shortened. But Halusa used the shortened test for a joint coaching session with Marc Basseng, where the newcomer to the Porsche Endurance Challenge was able to learn a lot from the professional racing driver.

In qualifying, Philip Schauerte drove the car to second position in class. At the start, Halusa then lost some position. "I thought to myself that wasn't bad, because the race is long. After that, I drove flawlessly in the heat," said the pilot.

But shortly before the pit stop window opened, the safety car was suddenly called out on the track, before the race in Styria was finally stopped shortly afterwards. But what had happened? During the floods on Thursday, the line was washed out and it then subsided. For safety reasons, the race had to be stopped.

"It was an extreme shame for us, because I'm sure that Philip could have made up a few positions with his experience and speed. So we have to settle for sixth position," said Halusa. "Nevertheless, I was able to learn a lot during the event and for me it is always fantastically beautiful to drive on my favorite race track. Many thanks to my family, the Porsche Centre Leipzig and my partners for their support!"

The Porsche Endurance Challenge continues on the second weekend in August. Then the racing series will make a guest appearance at the traditional summer event at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The event in the Magdeburg Börde will be Halusa's home race.
