Porsche Club America to Challenge Porsche Club GB in iRacing showdown

The two iconic Porsche Clubs from the USA & UK will go head to head in what is set to be another fantastic esports event. There has certainly been a huge awareness drawn to sim racing since most countries are currently in a lockdown situation, with Porsche drivers and simracers competing on the virtual track. Porsche Clubs around the world are well known and respected for their events held throughout the year, whilst race meetings, cars & coffee and Porsche festivals might be currently out of the picture, members for the PCA & PCGB are set to take on the virtual challenge. The first race will be broadcast live Saturday 16th May on the iRacing esports Network Official Youtube Page by Podium esports.

The PCA has more than 130,000 members and is the largest single-brand club in the world. It was shortly joined by Porsche Club Great Britain in the 1960s which is now the largest recognised Porsche Club in Europe; this special event is one not to miss. The two heats will feature the Porsche 911 RSR and be held at the iconic Silverstone Circuit on Saturday 16th May 8pm gmt & Road America Circuit on Saturday 23rd May 8pm gmt. Drivers and guests from both clubs will go head to head against each other with competitive racing as the North Americans and Brits fight it out to take victory. Road America is no stranger to GT racing with the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship a fan favourite on the track and will be a delight to see an all Porsche field take to the American circuit. Silverstone, fresh from hosting the PorscheSport all Porsche multi class event, has had a very busy virtual calendar and will welcome the two iconic clubs on the 16th.

Porsche’s success and popularity on the real track has certainly been echoed in the virtual racing community. The last few weeks have seen the Porsche Mobil 1 Virtual Supercup become a fan favourite along with the IMSA virtual calendar and the all-Porsche Multi class PorscheSport 2 Hours of Silverstone. Whilst many of the motorsport world look towards real racing making its return, the simracing platform has certainly kept us all entered during the worldwide lockdown and gained many new fans.
