Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard promises a lot of balance in the Velocitta

With difficult overtaking, Circuito de Mogi Guaçu is very technical and usually rewards drivers who start in good positions in races. After a very busy opening stage at Interlagos, the 2023 Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard season will follow this weekend with the second of six sprint stages, the short races, scheduled for this year. The most produced race cars on the planet will be in Mogi Guaçu, in the interior of São Paulo.

The Velocitta stage marks the debut of performance ballasts in the Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge cars – the promise of even more balanced performances on one of the most technical Brazilian circuits. The weights are distributed to the cars on the grid according to the position of the drivers in the championship and vary between 50kg and 5kg.

The Velocitta was inaugurated with the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard in 2012 and since then has been in all seasons of the category with races valid for the Sprint championship and also for the Endurance Series. In its current configuration, the track has 3,443 meters and 12 curves. With few overtaking points, the position on the grid is usually very important in the races at the site, which has very strong braking and low and medium speed corners for the most part.

With this, the drivers will have the optional practices and the free ones on Thursday and Friday, to seek the ideal arrangement for Saturday morning's qualifying. The first races of the weekend will be contested in the early afternoon. On Sunday the races will be played with the grid reversed, with the schedule starting at 12:40 p.m.

Carioca Nicolas Costa leads the Carrera Cup, with 48 points won at Interlagos. In the Sprint Challenge Cristian Mohr leads with 47. Carrera Sport has Georgios Frangulis at the top and Carrera Rookie is led by Edu Guedes, who closed the first stage with 100% advantage. In the Sprint Challenge Sport, the first is Antonio Junqueira and in the Sprint Challenge Rookie, the leadership is Célio Brasil.

Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard races are broadcast on Band and Sportv, as well as on the series' official YouTube channels, official website and Facebook.
