Porsche looking for dominance: VCO Presents The Inaugural ‘Simmys’

Munich – A special accolade awaits the key figures from the 2020 Esports racing season shortly before the turn of the year. On 26th December, Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) will present the VCO SIMMY AWARDS for the first time. The ‘SIMMY’ trophy, designed specifically for this competition, will be awarded in eleven categories. For each winner, VCO will donate 1,000 euros to an organisation of the winner’s choice.

The nomination period for the VCO SIMMY AWARDS is from today to 25th November. Members of the global Esports racing community will have the opportunity to propose up to five worthy winners per category online at v-c-o.info/SIMMY-Nominations. The three drivers with the most nominations will then progress to the final vote from 26th November to 6th December. Half of the vote will be decided by a jury of Esports racing experts, consisting of:

Kristin Banse, Managing Editor, Overtake.gg
Matt Gallagher, WTF1
Ben Rossiter-Turner, Head of Esports, Motorsport Games Nathan Quinn, THE RACE
Gonzalo & Alberto, BoxThisLap
Marco Ujhasi, Manager Esports, Porsche Motorsport

The other half of the vote will be determined by the fans. The winners will then be announced at the award ceremony, which will be broadcast on Boxing Day.

“The VCO SIMMY AWARDS is the culmination of an exciting year for Esports racing,” said Florian Haasper, CEO of Virtual Competition Organisation. “The awards allow us to recognise the performances and extraordinary achievements of renowned and less-known Esports racing participants across all sim platforms. I would like to say a big thank you to the members of the jury, whose expertise gives the ‘SIMMY’ even greater significance. The fact that the awards will also help good causes means we are rounding off this special competition with a worthy awards ceremony at Christmas.”
