Sundahl takes first win of season at the Ring Knutstorp

Lukas Sundahl has taken the first race of the season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. After a fierce starting duel where he was really challenged by Pontus Fredricsson, the reigning champion he was able to take maximum points in the open race. Fredricsson was second and third on the podium, Hugo Andersson secured just before Edvin Hellsten and Emil Persson.

Pontus Fredricsson got off to a better start than Lukas Sundahl from second position on the grid challenging the pole sitter into the first corner. ”I got a better start and thought I would come out in front of Lukas. But unfortunately I came out on the dirty line after the first corner, said Fredricsson, who was still quite happy with second place in the premiere heat. ”It's was very close. now it's just that last little thing we have to find to improve”.

”After the start it was quite calm and I could find a slightly reasonable pace to keep away and secure the season's first victory” said Lukas Sundahi who happy to walk away with the win

Behind the top duo, it was a really tough fight for third place. Hugo Andersson found himself battling hard to keep both Edvin Hellsten and Emil Persson at bay, but despite severe oversteering, he managed to hold on and take the last spot on the podium. ”It was all about getting good outputs and not skidding too much to keep them behind, Andersson stated.

Behind the top five, Närkeduell came home in sixth place. who got the better of Hampus Ericsson after he passed guest driver Fredrik Ekblom on the 13th lap.
Rallycross driver Anton Marklund became the eighth man to cross the finish line in his first season back in the Carrera Cup with ninth place goining to Christoffer Bergström, who thus won the Masters Cup before Thomas Karlson (11) and Prince Carl Philip (12).
