Talent meets experience - Proton Huber Competition ready for Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

Proton Huber Competition will compete with three cars in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The Bavarian racing team combines experience with talent in the world-famous racing series.

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has been the spearhead of the Porsche one-make series for many years and is very popular with motorsport fans around the globe. This year, Proton Huber Competition will once again be competing in the top-class championship, which is held in the supporting programme of the European Formula 1 races in front of a large crowd of spectators at the racetracks and in front of the TV devices.

The team, based in Hofkirchen, Bavaria, will be competing with talented young drivers coming up from the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland and an experienced and successful Supercup driver. The Supercup programme at Proton Huber Competition is managed by Michael Dirsch.

Alexander Tauscher and Sebastian Freymuth will complete a double programme with Proton Huber Competition this year. In addition to racing in the German Carrera Cup, the two talented drivers will also compete in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. While Freymuth has already made three race starts in the Supercup in 2022, Tauscher will celebrate his debut on the international stage! In the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, the two drivers stood out with a constant and strong increase in performance and are now ready to compete with the international competition.

The experienced Norwegian Roar Lindland will line up as the third driver for Christoph Huber's racing team. Lindland already competed for the Bavarian team in the racing series in 2021. In 2018 and 2022, the 46-year-old Scandinavian was crowned Pro-Am champion in the high-calibre one-make series. With his experience, he will be able to help Freymuth and Tauscher as they enter the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

Team Principal Christoph Huber is looking forward to the fourth full season of the racing team - which merged with the successful FIA WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship team Proton Competition over the winter months - in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: "At our debut in 2021, we competed in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup with two young drivers, Laurin Heinrich and Leon Köhler. Roar also raced with us this year. We didn't have high expectations or pressure back then - after all, they were new to the series. But we started with a lot of joy and enthusiasm and achieved great results. We want to continue this success story in 2024 - again without pressure, but full of confidence in the potential of our rookies."

The season will kick off from 17 to 19 May on the traditional Italian circuit in Imola, where Proton Huber Competition recently showed a strong team performance in the German Carrera Cup and achieved strong results! A total of eight events will be held as part of the Formula 1 supporting programme, of which the appearance in the legendary streets of the Principality of Monaco just one week after the season opener will be the season highlight! All races of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will be broadcast on Eurosport and on Sky Sport F1 on pay TV again this year.
