Edvin Hellsten held off to long-awaited victory

Edvin Hellsten held off and picked up his first win of the season when he triumphed in Saturday's first Porsche Carrera Cup heat in Anderstorp. Behind him, championship-leading Lukas Sundahl steered to second place and third finished Hampus Ericsson. – God, what a great feeling. I'm finally here again," Hellsten cheered before stepping up to the top of the podium.

Edvin Hellsten, whose start to the season has not been the expected one, started the race from pole position after Friday's strong qualifying performance.
"I got off to a great start and opened up a gap right away," he says. He got rid of that gap twice in the race. Only after Christoffer Bergström drove off and the safety car was called out already on the second lap. Later, the heat was also red-flagged while Gustav Bergström's car was salvaged. Hellsten, however, handled both restarts masterfully, maintaining his lead all the way into the finish.

Lukas Sundahl advanced to second place by overtaking Hampus Ericsson right at the start. After that, the Smålander felt quite satisfied with a second place.
"Edvin is not a threat to me in the championship at the moment. It was most important for me to keep drivers like Ericsson and Persson behind," Sundahl said.

Ericsson obviously first challenged Sundahl, but did not succeed. "We had some technical problems at the start. unclear what, and after that it became a pretty tough race. We fought on and got a podium," said a not-so-satisfied Ericsson.

After the last restart, Ericsson was courted by Emil Persson, among others, but he took in too much, went off and dropped to ninth place.
On the penultimate lap, Marcus Annervi overtook Pontus Fredricsson and thus took the fifth (!) fourth place of the season. Fredricsson finished fifth, followed by Ola Nilsson, Jan Magnussen, Robin Knutsson, Emil Persson and Oscar Löfquist.

In the Porsche Approved Cup, which, just like last Friday, offered a wonderful duel for the top spots, Andreas Ahlberg managed his fine eighth starting position, was eleventh overall and number one in the class. On the final lap, however, he was courted by Friday's winner Kjelle Lejonkrans who really found the form.
Lars-Bertil Rantzow looked to be heading for third place when he spun on the last lap. Third was ole william nærsnes, ahead of Hannes Morin who lost many positions in a run-off.

Tough battle for the podiums behind superior Lukas Sundahl

Lukas Sundahl won the inaugural race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia at Scandinavian Raceway in Anderstorp. The defending champion was superior from pole position, but behind him was a tough and crowd-pleasing duel for the other podiums. Second was emil persson and third was Ola Nilsson.

The third and final race of the last race in Fällfors had to be cancelled due to fog. It was therefore decided as the first race in Anderstorp on Friday.
Lukas Sundahl took the start in his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) from pole position and quickly snatched a gap. He kept it all the way to the finish, taking his third win of the season.
"It went completely according to plan. I took the start, created a safety gap and then went on the chasing times," said Sundahl, who, thanks to the victory, extended his lead in the championship.

New runner-up is Emil Persson, who took his first victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup last time in Fällfors. Persson started from fifth position but through overtaking of in turn Marcus Annervi, Ola Nilsson and Pontus Fredricsson he took the goal flag as runner-up. "It was a sick even between us, which was closest after Sundahl. I knew that if I kept my cool, chances would come. And they did, said a satisfied Persson, who had an almost equally satisfied Ola Nilsson closest to him at the finish.

Nilsson lost second place to Pontus Fredricsson already at the start of the race, but took revenge at the end and was thus able to capture his second third place of the season.
"I was behind Pontus for a long time, but it was difficult to get around, and besides, I had Emil and Annervi chasing behind," Ola said, among other things. Pontus Fredricsson had long had second place in the race, but with a broken front at the end he had to retreat and across the finish line he rolled as disappointed fifth. On the last lap, newcomer Marcus Annervi also made it past.

Annervi's fourth-place finish was his fourth in five races in the championship opener.

Behind the top five, Edvin Hellsten finished sixth and to seventh place Hampus Ericsson drove himself up from starting position ten. Ericsson was for a long time part of the group of six drivers with a chance at the podiums behind Sundahl. "But I slowed down and didn't catch up again until the end and then I didn't want to do anything stupid and take a chance," said Ericsson, who dropped to third place in the table.

Also in the Porsche Approved Cup, the class for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991 II), there was a wonderful duel for the top places between Kjelle Lejonkrans, Hannes Morin, Christoffer Bergström and Andreas Ahlberg. In half the race they were close together and even crossed the finish line that way. Kjelle Lejonkrans started the race in third place, but managed to advance and take his first victory in the class. "There was a bit of a fight in different places, but I managed to avoid them and had a bit of luck and came out of the battle winning," Lion's Wreath sums up afterwards.
