Sebastian Job completes Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB season in style with two wins
Sebastian Job from East Grinstead in Surrey was crowned as the RAFA Racing Club Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB champion at the penultimate weekend of 2025, and he signed off from the season in style with two victories during the finalé at Brands Hatch. Job conquered the longer Grand Prix circuit in the dry conditions of Round 15, and he underlined his dominance again in wet conditions in Round 16.
Aidan Walsingham from Bath in Somerset sealed the Amateur category championship with two races to spare, like Job he finished 2025 in the best possible way with two category wins in a virtual Kent. The close battle for third in the Pro category between Peter Berryman from Corby in Northamptonshire and Leo Gariboli from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire went to Berryman. Meanwhile, an equally tight fight for second in the Am championship standings between Guy R Edwards from Staines-upon-Thames in Surrey and Christian Szaruta from London was resolved favour of Edwards.
Job enjoys another perfect weekend in Pro
Job was on the pace throughout qualifying and he would finish the session ahead claiming his fifth pole position of the season. The weekend’s first race took place in dry conditions and Job got away well when the lights went out, leading the pack through Paddock Hill Bend, Luke McKeown from Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex and Berryman slotted in just behind.
Having slipped down the order in the opening laps, Gariboli began his fight back, he grabbed ninth from Dylan Platt from Bolton in Greater Manchester. A close battle for fourth soon ignited between Matt J Caruana from Reading in Berkshire, David Williams from Leicester in Leicestershire and William Chadwick from Wrightington in Wigan. When Williams ran wide it allowed Caruana and Chadwick through, Chadwick then attacked Caruana, overtaking at Paddock Hill before there was contact between them at Graham Hill which delayed Caruana.
With nine minutes of the race remaining Williams got by Chadwick to retake fourth, meanwhile a recovering Caruana became engaged in a fight for tenth overall with the Am category competitors. However, at the flag Job was ahead to take his seventh win of the season, he was joined on the virtual podium by McKeown and Berryman.
Crofton Woodhatch from Midsomer Norton in Somerset started on reverse grid pole position for the second race of the day, conducted in full wet weather conditions. At the start Woodhatch led through Paddock Hill but he lost out to Gariboli at Druids, the latter got ahead on the inside line. By the second lap Job was up to fourth having started in eighth place on the grid, he quickly dispatched Woodhatch to take third making the new race order Gariboli from Walsingham and Job. As Job attempted to gain an overlap on Walsingham he came under fire from Berryman. With 15 minutes of the race remaining the top five were racing line astern – Gariboli, Walsingham, Job, Berryman and McKeown. Job broke the deadlock snatching second at Sheene’s and Berryman followed him through. Job wasted no time in attacking Gariboli for the lead and after two attempts on the exit of Graham Hill he was finally successful on the Brabham Straight. Berryman soon passed Gariboli for second while Chadwick overtook McKeown for fourth at Pilgrim’s Drop, however the two would swap back around on the final lap.
Job took the chequered flag first for his eighth win of 2025, Berryman came home in second with Gariboli in third. With his result Berryman would secure third in the championship standings with Gariboli slipping to third.
Walsingham takes two more wins in Am
Aidan Walsingham from Bath in Somerset started ahead of his rivals for Round 15 and made a clean start to maintain his advantage. Christian Szaruta followed in second with Edwards in third. Daniel Cofield from Doncaster in South Yorkshire made an early exit from the race with an incident at Surtees. Meanwhile Scott Moakes from Meppershall in Bedfordshire began pressuring Edwards for third in the category battle but he could not mount a pass.
In the closing stages of the race Szaruta, Edwards and Moakes were running closer than ever, as Moakes attacked Edwards he found himself under fire from Gareth Higgins from Exeter in Devon. Moakes and Higgins swapped places a couple of times in their scrap for thirteenth overall, but Higgins would eventually emerge ahead. At the flag Walsingham secured his ninth category victory of 2025, Szaruta finished second with Edwards in third.
Walsingham started the final race of 2025 from the second row of the grid, and impressively he ran with the overall leaders for the first part of the race. Meanwhile Edwards was in second with Szaruta in third, however, the latter soon received a black flag for an out of position start forcing him to report to the pit lane – Moakes was promoted to third in Am as a result.
On the second lap Moakes got ahead of Edwards for second in the category, and Edwards later slipped further back with an incident at Surtees, this allowed Tom Stevens from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire to grab third, and that is how the category order would stay to the flag. Having run as high as second overall Walsingham finished in sixth repeating his result from Round 15 and recording an eighth consecutive win in Am.
