Huber Racing ends ADAC GT Masters programme

Further restructuring at Huber Racing after the health issues of team boss Christoph Huber - the Bavarian racing team will end the successfully started ADAC GT Masters programme.

Huber Racing has to make further adjustments to its race programme for the current season. After the health issues of team boss Christoph Huber and the reduction of the Porsche Carrera Cup line-up, the racing team from Hofkirchen will end the ADAC GT Masters programme.

In the tradition-steeped GT3 series of the ADAC, the Porsche racing team fielded a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time in 2023, driven by Tim Zimmermann and New Zealander Jaxon Evans. The duo won the season opener at the "Festival of Dreams" in Hockenheim before the drivers scored another podium result in third place at the season highlight at the Norisring. Tim Zimmermann followed this up with another pole position at the Nürburgring. After three of six race weekends, the two drivers occupy the third championship position and were within striking distance of the top of the standings.

"We are incredibly sad about the decision we had to make, but unfortunately we had no choice but to end the ADAC GT Masters programme during this difficult time," said Luca Rettenbacher, who has temporarily taken over the lead from Huber Racing. "We would like to thank Tim and Jaxon for their fantastic performance during the season. Winning the first ADAC GT Masters race is one of the highlights in the history of Huber Racing. A big thank you also to everyone who made this project possible for us. We hope to return to the ADAC GT Masters in the future."

Huber Racing will focus on its programme in the various Porsche one-make series for the remainder of the season.
