Porsche Carrera Cup North America unveils 2024 event calendar.

Porsche Motorsport North America has unveiled the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup North America race calendar following the conclusion of the 2023 season in Austin, Texas.

The fourth season of the premier one-make race series will spread its 16-round, eight race weekend schedule across the lineups of the most popular sports car racing and Formula One ® events of the year.

With the addition of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, the Porsche Carrera Cup North America will now be the support series for Formula 1 on the continent for three events.

Porsche Carrera Cup North America will join IMSA for five of road racing’s most exciting sports car events. For the fourth consecutive time, the series will open its year as part of the Mobil1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March.

The ANDIAL Cup will be introduced in 2024 to provide competitors an additional award for competing at the most iconic road courses in North America.

All full season competitors will receive automatic entry for the ANDIAL Cup, while those interested in running only at the more storied tracks will be presented the opportunity to compete for a championship.

ANDIAL Cup tracks include Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, Road America, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Opening with rounds one and two at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida, the 2024 season will support the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as it has every year since Porsche series debuted in 2021. Back-to-back dates with F1 will highlight the first half of the season.

Joining the world’s most popular sport for the second year, rounds three and four will be the support series for the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix 2024, May 3 – 5. Carrera Cup will again enjoy a Canadian event when it travels north of the boarder competing as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada weekend, June 7 – 9 for rounds five and six.

Watkins Glen International is one of four legacy tracks – circuits which have hosted a Porsche Carrera Cup North America event weekend every season since the first – on the 2024 calendar.

The other tracks which have enjoyed a place on the season schedule each of the four seasons are: Sebring, Road America – which returns to the IMSA weekend August 2 – 4 –and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Carrera Cup North America will again join the Battle On the Bricks IMSA weekend at “Indy”, September 20 – 22.

After one year off the schedule, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta returns to the Carrera Cup lineup on October 9 – 12 on the weekend of the 27th running of the Petit Le Mans.

For the second year, the series will end its season at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Formula 1 United States Grand Prix 2024 will be the third time in the season the series acts as the support race to Formula 1.

Where to Watch.
All rounds of the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup North America will again be found on a wide range of streaming options. IMSA.tv, the NBC Peacock streaming app and PorscheCarreraCup.us will all provide live coverage of each 40-minute race. Once the checkered flag has fallen, all rounds will be archived on the series YouTube channel. The experts of IMSA Radio will again provide commentary and color for the 16-race championship’s race calls.

Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO, Porsche Motorsport North America.
“Each year, we focus on ways to improve the experience and exposure of the Porsche Carrera Cup in North America for our customer teams, drivers and partners. Having been on the sharp edge of the sport since 2021, this becomes more and more challenging each year. Taking into consideration the feedback of our stakeholders, we explored and have created what we feel is our most dynamic calendar. We have worked to be on the center stage of the biggest race events on the continent. Returning to Canada was important and doing so with the Grand Prix du Canada places us at the epicenter of motorsport, Formula One, three times next season. Balancing this with five rounds at the most popular venues on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship gives us the best way to highlight our drivers, teams and product in the sport today.”
