In the second race of the season of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring, which is held as part of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, the reigning runner-up of the Cup 2 team classification KKrämer Racing (#121) with Christopher Brück and Moritz Kranz finished the race in first place in the Cup 2 classification. In the Cup 3 class, AVIA W&S Motorsport with Moritz Oberheim, Marius Rauer and Finn Zulauf was the first to see the black and white checkered flag. A total of 47 PETN participants took part in the NIMEX 4th DMV 25-hour race – 12 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) in the Cup 2 class and 13 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS (982) in the Cup 3 class.

KKrämer Racing wins Cup 2 class by a clear margin

By the start of the race, the track had dried out to such an extent that starting driver Carlos Rivas of Team Black Falcon (#102) was able to lead the Cup 2 class with slicks in the first hour of racing. In the further course, the runner-up of the Cup 2 team classification KKrämer Racing (#121) with the drivers Christopher Brück and Moritz Kranz took the lead and took the lead. After 27 laps and thus one lap ahead, the team from Bergisch Gladbach finished ahead of the Black Falcon Team IDENTICA (#102) with Ben Bünnagel, Noah Nagelsdiek and Carlos Rivas. The championship points for third place went to Max Kruse Racing (#100) with Benjamin Leuchter and Nicholas Otto, who thus also take the lead in the PETN drivers' and teams' classifications.

"After the retirement at NLS1, today was primarily about finding our way into the championship. In the first stint we took it a little easier. When the track conditions were clear, we went full throttle. We were then able to gain a lead, which Chris [Brück] managed superbly towards the end. That's how we managed to clinch class victory," explains Moritz Kranz, who clinched class victory in the 24-hour race with KKrämer Racing last year.

A special gift went to 'Jules' from the Frikadelli Racing Team (#111). The Briton won the AM drivers' championship on his birthday together with Klaus Abbelen and PRO driver Felipe Laser. "What a way to celebrate his birthday – the top finish on the podium of the AM classification. I am very happy about that. This is a really great birthday present. The conditions were very tricky. I drove the start and am glad that everything remained intact. My teammates did a fantastic job. Overall, a great weekend with a lot of points for the championship – that's good," sums up 'Jules'.

The AM winner from the last race Herbert Lösch finished second with Karsten Krämer and PRO driver Alexey Veremenko of KKrämer Racing (#112). Third place in their first race of the 2023 season went to Brits Bill and Jim Cameron with start number 113.

AVIA W&S Motorsport victorious after thrilling duel

The Cup 3 class attracted attention at the second race of the PETN season with a thrilling duel at the front. In the final stint, the winner of the first race, Fabio Grosse of Sorg Rennsport (#959), fought with Moritz Oberheim of AVIA W&S Motorsport (#960) for first place on the podium. Oberheim finally won the close duel and crossed the finish line with an advantage of only 1.617 seconds. Grosse shared the Cayman GT4 CS with Heiko Eichenberg and Patrik Grütter. Car number 960 was completed by Marius Rauer and Finn Zulauf. The additional championship point for the fastest race lap was recorded by race winner Oberheim on the account of the team.

"The weather games that are known here have made it difficult for us. Somehow every rain radar indicated that it was raining, but apart from some drizzle in between, it didn't, so it was almost dry throughout the race. Kudos to my two team-mates, who set a super pace. After the incident in the first corner, which dropped us to the end of the class, all three of us made a great comeback. In the end, it was just enough for victory. Many thanks to Fabio Grosse, who was a great sportsman with whom I could fight fairly," said Moritz Oberheim.

In the amateur drivers' classification of the Cup 3 class, Stefan Beyer and Carl-Friedrich Kolb with PRO driver Torsten Kratz from Sorg Rennsport (#949) were ahead after four hours of racing.

"Our wish and will worked wonderfully today – first in the AM classification and fourth in the class. The goal is to repeat that. We will test the whole day again on the Friday before NLS3 in order to be able to build on this success," says Stefan Beyer.

Second place went to the AM winners of NLS1 Adrenalin Motorsport (#930) with Stefan Kruse and PRO driver David Griessner, who shared the car with Florian Wolf this race. Third place went to 'Coco', Alex Fielenbach and Rüdiger Schicht of Team Mathol Racing (#955).

Porsche Supercup champion visits PETN

At NLS2, the reigning Porsche Supercup champion Dylan Pereira started again. As in the first race of the season, the Luxembourger once again drove the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with start number #119 entered by the ClickversicherungTeam. Pereira is thus preparing for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring in May, where he will also start with the team from Hanover.

Also part of PETN again: Dorian Boccolacci. The Frenchman, who also competes in the Porsche Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cup France, had already contested PETN races last season. This year he will again fight for victory with the Mathol Racing team (#107) in the Cup 2 class.

911 GT3 Cup test in the next race

For development purposes, NLS3 uses a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Manthey with special starting authorization in the Cup 2 class. The team from Meuspath already tested the latest generation of the customer sports car from Weissach at an NLS race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in autumn 2021 in order to classify the vehicle for the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring, which debuts as a Porsche one-make cup the following year. Based on feedback from teams and drivers from last season, various technical changes will be tested during the test in the upcoming race.

The third race of the season will take place on 15 April. The 54th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy takes place over a distance of four hours.
