SSR Performance with DTM guest start at the Nürburgring

DTM

Within a very short time, SSR Performance made a name for itself in motorsport. After the ADAC GT Masters Rookie Season 2020, in which both the team and drivers' titles were won, the team is more than successful again this year. However, the mission of defending the title should not remain the only sporting goal.

The guest start in the DTM has been set for 20 to 22 August 2021 at the Nürburgring. With Michael Ammermüller, no stranger takes a seat behind the wheel of start number 92. The 35-year-old has already achieved some success in his career. The official Formula 1 Red Bull Racing test driver from 2007 emerged as the winner of the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Several victories and the championship title in the ADAC GT Masters 2020 are also among the career highlights of the German.

With the DTM guest start, SSR Performance is once again positioning itself with its strong Porsche line-up.

Stefan Schlund, Managing Director of SSR Performance GmbH: "As a company owner, I am constantly thinking about where and how the company can best be placed. With the guest start, we want to explore whether the DTM is the right platform to position SSR Performance even more broadly in the future. We had a short-term, very compressed planning phase and are starting with a newly assembled team. We are looking forward to the guest start at the traditional Nürburgring."

Michael Ammermüller, driver SSR Performance: "I am very happy that SSR Performance is using me as a driver for the DTM guest start. This is my first race weekend in this series – it will definitely be a big challenge. A perfect preparation was not possible due to the short time, the regulations are different. This will definitely make it exciting and interesting! I'm highly motivated at the Nürburgring."

Wolfgang Hatz, Team Principal SSR Performance: "I have very good memories of the DTM, in which I have been actively participating for many years. Now we are hoping for a super exciting race weekend with our young team of SSR Performance. Above all, we hope that we can also make a contribution to the region with the first race after the storm disaster."

About SSR Performance:

The young and dynamic SSR Performance GmbH, based in Munich, was founded by Stefan Schlund as an exclusive automotive company. For the company, which takes care of repairs, maintenance & service of sports cars and classic cars of all brands in its day-to-day business, motorsport is an integrated part of the still young group of companies.

After moving to a new High Performance Automotive Center in the north of the Bavarian metropolis, which has seven floors and around 10,000 square meters of usable space, the motorsport department of SSR Performance had its first full season in the ADAC GT Masters 2020 on the agenda. This was immediately rewarded with the victory of the drivers' and teams' championships by Michael Ammermüller and Christian Engelhart as well as the title in the team classification.

Stefan Schlund, Managing Director of SSR Performance GmbH from Munich, emphasizes: "For us, our commitment to racing with GT sports cars offers an excellent stage to prove our competence in motorsport and the sports car sector derived from it."
