Sundahl and Morin top more than the championship tables
Lukas Sundahl and Hannes Morin top the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and the Porsche Approved Cup respectively halfway into the season. With that, it is not only in the championship table that Smålänningen's and Västerbottningen's names are at the top. Sundahl and Morin also have the most pole positions and fastest laps in their respective classes.
Seven out of 14 races have been decided in the 19th edition of the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. Ahead of the Kanonloppet at Gelleråsen Arena on August 19-20, Lukas Sundahl has grabbed a lead of 38 points in the championship standings and in the Porsche Approved Cup, Morin is first, just ahead of Andreas Ahlberg.
Behind Sundahl's and Morin's success so far are, among other things, strong qualifying efforts and good speed in the race.
Let's start with Sundahl. So far, he has qualified for pole position in all races except the opening heat most recently in Anderstorp. Then Edvin Hellsten was fastest.
In the statistics of fastest laps, Sundahl has not been as dominant. But almost. In five out of seven races, the driver from Micke Kågerad Racing has recorded the best lap time.
Hannes Morin has convinced almost as much as Sundahl. In the Porsche Approved Cup, he has five pole positions and four fastest laps. Strong from the newcomer from Umeå who many believed to be a hot, perhaps the hottest, candidate for victory before the season. So far, Morin, who competes for Steber Racing, has really lived up to high expectations.
