ACI Motorsports SRO Pirelli GT4 America
ACI Motorsports is proud to announce our driver lineup for the 2023 SRO Pirelli GT4 America season. The first driver pairing is Richard Edge and Matt Halcome - the two have extensive experience in single-make racing and are excited to get familiar with the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport they will share. They will compete in the AM class.
“My co-driver, Matt Halcome, and I are looking forward to the excitement and challenge of GT4-homologated racing across a variety of car manufacturers,” said Richard Edge.
“We know the competition throughout the field will be steep, but we have already tested the new Porsche GT4 RS Clubsport and feel confident going into a brand new series and season with SRO GT4 America.”
“I agree with Richard Edge, my co-driver,” said Halcome. “I was very impressed my first time in the car with the balance of the GT4 RS ClubSport compared to the 992 cup that I raced in Porsche Carrera Cup North America.
“We are looking forward to the SRO GT4 America series and racing against other manufacturers.”
ACI Motorsports’ PRO-AM drivers are Kay Van Berlo and Curt Swearingin.
“Super excited to join the team in 2023, it will be my first time driving in GT4 America. Good to get exposure to the new championship, obviously very happy to do this in a Porsche, since I’m part of the select driver program. It’s a great expansion of what I’m doing in IMSA, now having, you know, another program on the side.”
“Also super excited to be doing this with ACI, I've been very impressed by their growth over the past couple of years. They’ve established themselves in some really great series, so I’m glad to be part of that program.”
“I’ve known Curt (Swearingin), and Richard (Edge), and Andrew Davis, most of the guys on the team already for a couple of years, shared a track with them in carrera cup north america. So it’s cool that we’re now sharing a car, at least Curt and I.”
“Curt has shown some great pace over the last couple of years so I’m confident that we can do a really good job in pro-am and have a good season together! So as I said, super excited looking forward to the first round; we’ll be putting a lot of effort this season to make things happen and see if we can score a couple of trophies this year.”
Swearingin is the owner and founder of ACI Motorsports and won the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama in 2020.
“It’s really cool to be able to announce Kay as a member of the ACI team for this season,” said Swearingin. “It’s an extreme privilege to have a driver like Kay joining us and entrusting us to give him the support he needs.”
“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve been mentally preparing for this season and I feel like I’m in a good spot. Morale is high and ACI is doing all we can to be as competitive as possible in this championship, and while we’re not getting ahead of ourselves, we feel good about our chances this year.”
Representing the Silver class in SRO Pirelli GT4 America this season is Andrew Davis and Francis Selldorff. Davis was the 2015 Continental Tire Challenge GS Champion and also won the 2011 Grand-Am Rolex Series Championship.
“I’m beyond excited to join ACI Motorsports for the 2023 SRO GT4 America season!” said Davis.
“This program brings together some familiar aspects as well as some new opportunities.”
“I’m really looking forward to teaming up with Francis Selldorff. He is a rising star in the sport, and it’s going to be a privilege to share this adventure with him,” said Davis. “Additionally, this program gives me the opportunity to once again represent the Porsche brand in one of the most competitive fields in motorsport.”
“It’s also exciting to be a part of ACI Motorsport’s first full season in SRO. I’ve been working with Curt and his team for years, so things have really come full circle on this one. We worked really hard in the off-season to put this program together, and I’d like to thank everyone involved in making it happen.”
Francis Selldorff began racing at the age of 3, taking his go-kart around parking garages until the local authorities found out. He has competed in Ferrari Challenge and SRO GT4, and is currently a student at Boston College studying Finance and Computer Science.
“The Pirelli GT4 2023 season can’t start soon enough,” said Selldorff.
“It’s a privilege and dream come true to drive with Andrew and ACI. I can’t wait to learn in this environment.”
