XVR Sim Racing continue winning ways
The second round of the ASR Endurance Championship headed to Monza and the 911 Cup Class once again provide superb battles across the field. XVR Sim Racing once again claimed the blagging rights to take home another victory following on from their round one triumph at Okayama. The special digital event sees GT1 and Porsche 911 cup cars battle over four hours on the iRacing platform. PorscheSport claimed another second position, with Ryan Parkins and Austin Greatorex performing a perfect recover drive after an early error.
XVR Sim Racing took the pole position in qualifying and gave fans an entertaining spectacle as they battled with FBP Racing Cup in the early stages of the four hour endurance race. Ryan Parkins looked to make the battle for the lead a three way tie until slight contact with the grass into ascari left the PorscheSport drivers with a fight through the field.
There was a huge moment from XVR Sim Racing in the closing stages when they made contact with a spinning Aston Martin. Thankfully Johnny Brandon was able to get the 911 back to the pits for a quick repair and retain the first place.
“It's a really good start to the season, we had a few scares in the race but we're happy to come home in first place. We've been racing the 911 cup a kit recently, we're fortunate that we raced at Monza last week in the Neo Endurance so we felt confident with our pace and the set up of the car.” George McLay, XVR Sim Racing
“We're happy with todays result. I think after the early incident we were back in fifth. Austin Greatorex put in some fantastic stints and was really consistent on both stints and got us back to second place. We're heading to the next round at Phillip Island, hopefully we can put up a fight against XVR Sim Racing guys. ” Ryan Parkins, PorscheSport
