AVIA W&S Motorsport ready for 2023 ADAC GT4 Germany season with top-class Porsche Cayman GT4 trio

The fifth season of the ADAC GT4 Germany will kick off at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26-28 May 2023 as part of the legendary DTM. AVIA W&S Motorsport is ready for the competition with three Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and six strong drivers. More than 30 GT4 racers from five manufacturers will compete at six race tracks in a total of twelve races, promising thrilling motorsport.

This year, the races will be shown live and in full on SPORT1 on free-TV and can also be followed in a free livestream on sport1.de, ServusTV On, adac.de/motorsport and the new ADAC Motorsport channel on youtube.com/adacmotorsports.

AVIA W&S Motorsport's driver line-up for the three Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars has the potential to fight for the team championship, as well as being at the top of the standings in the drivers' classifications. The Rodopi-designed car with the #30 is driven by Max Kronberg and Hendrik Still. Together with W&S Motorsport, both have already contested last season and will again be competing for top positions this year. Sharing the wheel of the #31 GEDORE Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 are David Jahn and Jannes Fittje, who have already raced successfully together in the ADAC GT Masters. The two up-and-coming young talents Finn Zulauf and Daniel Gregor will start in the AVIA racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 #75 with the clear goal of scoring maximum points in the Junior classification.

AVIA W&S Motorsport used the two test days in Oschersleben at the beginning of May to prepare for the upcoming season. Changing weather conditions offered the opportunity to collect data on rain tyres as well and to prepare the drivers for these conditions. In all sessions, the drivers impressed with top times in the top 5.

After the season opener at the end of May in the Magdeburger Börde, the ADAC GT4 Germany will make a stop at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands from 23 to 25 June 2023. The Nürburgring will host races five and six on the first weekend in August. The second half of the season begins two weeks later at the Lausitzring, before the championship battle enters the hot phase at the Sachsenring from 8 to 10 September. The grand finale is traditionally held at the Hockenheimring in northern Baden-Württemberg from 20 to 22 October.

Quotes before the season

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal AVIA W&S Motorsport: "The test days in Oschersleben were a very good assessment of the situation and all our drivers were fast. We can expect a full field with numerous strong opponents in a fantastic DTM environment. We feel very comfortable in the professional series and are looking forward to close and exciting races. The goal of AVIA W&S Motorsport is clearly defined: To always score maximum points with all three cars, to score podiums and wins in order to secure the titles for the team and the drivers at the end of the season. We are ready!"

Hendrik Still, Driver #30: "The test days in Oschersleben were very successful and we were up front in every session. It's great to see Max continuing to make great progress and I am really looking forward to our second season together in the ADAC GT4 Germany. We will come back even stronger and attack together with AVIA W&S Motorsport. I am ready for the first race weekend!"

David Jahn, Driver #31: "The ADAC GT4 Germany is once again very strongly contested and we have to push hard. After the tests I think we are in a very good position, our lap times were consistently great. We definitely want to fight for the title, because our package with the Porsche Cayman GT4, Jannes at my side and the professional team behind is a perfect fit."

Daniel Gregor, Driver #75: "I am really looking forward to the start of the season, to the races with AVIA W&S Motorsport and Finn as my teammate. As juniors, we want to attack from the first race onwards and have a say in the title fight, which certainly won't be easy in the tight field. But we are optimally prepared after the tests in Oschersleben and I am eager for the first race!"
