Huber Racing with victories and podiums at Zandvoort and Imola

The appearances of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux in Zandvoort and the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse in Imola were successful for Huber Racing with victories and podium places - meanwhile the Bavarian racing team experienced a difficult weekend in the Carrera Cup Germany.

Another extensive race weekend lies behind Huber Racing. The racing team competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and its Benelux offshoot at Zandvoort in the Netherlands. In addition, the team from Hofkirchen in Bavaria raced in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse at Imola. In addition, there was a novelty in the team's history: For the first time since the team was founded, team owner Christoph Huber missed a Carrera Cup Germany race weekend, as he was on location in Italy for the Swiss customer sports series.

The race weekend in the Carrera Cup Benelux on the traditional circuit in the dunes near the Dutch North Sea coast was successful for the Bavarian Porsche team. In the first race on Saturday afternoon, 16-year-old Flynt Schuring finished in second position. This is the second podium finish in the Carrera Cup Benelux for the youngster from the Netherlands. Israeli Ariel Levi was also fighting for a podium result, but while attacking the last podium position, Levi spun and was hit by a competitor. As a result, Ariel Levi finished the race at the back of the field. Horst Felix Felbermayr finished the race in seventh position.

On Sunday afternoon, the second round of the one-make cup took place. In this race, Ariel Levi took his first victory in the strongly contested race series. An emotional moment for the 23-year-old and the entire Huber team. Horst Felix Felbermayr also drove to a solid points result in the second race - the Austrian was again classified in seventh position. Flynt Schuring also fought for a top result in the second race, but after an impact the youngster retired at his home race.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany also completed its third race weekend at Zandvoort as part of the DTM weekend. But the race weekend in the popular German one-make cup did not go according to the team's wishes. In Saturday's race, Leon Köhler was the best-placed Huber driver in seventh place ahead of Sebastian Freymuth, who recorded another strong result in tenth position. Alexander Tauscher also showed a strong recovery in which he fought his way up from 32nd on the grid to 16th.

On Sunday, Ariel Levi was the best-placed pilot of the Huber team in ninth position. Youngster Tauscher also showed another strong recovery and fought his way up from the last starting position to position 15. Georgi Donchev climbed the podium in third place in the Pro-Am class.

After the third of eight Carrera Cup Deutschland race weekends, Leon Köhler is the team's best-placed driver in tenth place overall. Georgi Donchev continues to lead the Pro-Am standings. The Carrera Cup Deutschland now goes into a summer break and returns to the Nürburgring on the first weekend in August - then the team wants to start a race to catch up after the difficult start to the season.

Huber Racing also competed in the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse at Imola at the same time. The twins Johannes Kapfinger and Michael Kapfinger each drove a 911 GT3 Cup there. Johannes Kapfinger, who won the GT Winter Series title in March, has been an official Porsche Switzerland support driver since this season. Johannes took his third win of the season in the GT3 Cup Sprint Challenge in the third round of the season. His twin brother Michael finished second overall in the Open GT race and celebrated class victory. In the 100-mile Endurance race, the Huber team finished second.

"I am very happy with our results in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse. I'm very happy for Ariel and Johannes that they were able to clinch their victories," said Christoph Huber. "Unfortunately, things didn't go as we had hoped in the Carrera Cup Germany. We are now working on coming back stronger from the summer break."

Things continue for Huber Racing at the Red Bull Ring. In Styria, the team will compete in the Formula 1 supporting programme in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup.
