Oliver Cottam Returns in Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain for 2025 with Graves Motorsport

Oliver Cottam, one of the UK’s most promising young GT racing talents, is set to embark on an exciting second season in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain, joining the championship-winning Graves Motorsport for 2025.

At just 18 years old, Oliver Cottam has already established a reputation as a sportscar champion in the making. The Anglo-Chinese driver began his racing career in karts before graduating to the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2020, achieving four podium finishes and a 9th-place finish in the 2021 standings. His interest in sportscars began in 2022, when he contested eight rounds of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge with Alistair Rushforth Motorsport, earning a best finish of 6th and concluding the season 14th in the Pro class.

In 2023 Oliver shifted focus to sprint racing, competing in the TCR UK Championship behind the wheel of the #98 Paul Sheard Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Regular top ten finishes secured him 14th in the series standings. During the season, Oliver also took class wins in the Race of Remembrance as well as selected rounds of the Britcar Trophy.

2024 saw Oliver step up to the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, piloting the #98 Cayman RS Clubsport in the RS Pro category. Quickly adapting to the competitive nature of the championship, he earned an overall podium at Croft in July and consistently finished within the top eight in class during the final three weekends, ultimately securing 6th place in the RS Pro standings. For 2025, Oliver Cottam will join Graves Motorsport to complete a multi-car entry for the team in the UK’s premier one-make GT4 Championship. Colchester-based Graves Motorsport is one of the UK’s most successful, and busiest, race teams.

In 2024 Graves Motorsport, led by Karl and David Graves, competed in multiple championships, securing the Clio Cup UK title with Nicky Taylor and finishing 3rd and 5th in the Vertu Mini Challenge Trophy with James Black and Alex Solley. The team’s four-car entry into the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB saw Jacob Tofts and Jonathan Beeson take the RS AM and CS AM titles respectively with 11 class wins between them while Mini Challenge UK-turned-Porsche Sprint Challenge driver Max Coates finished 2nd in the overall standings.

Oliver Cottam: “I’m thrilled to join Graves Motorsport for the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB and my second season in this incredible championship. The team’s proven record and the opportunity to collaborate with equally driven teammates will undoubtedly push me forward on my GT journey. After competing in various series leading up to the Porsche Sprint Challenge, the move to Graves Motorsport is a pivotal step in my journey toward international GT racing. “Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of my parents, commercial partners and management team. Their unwavering encouragement and guidance mean the world to me as I embark on this exciting new chapter.”

Graves Motorsport Team Principal Karl Graves: “We are very pleased and proud that Oliver has chosen to join Graves Motorsport for the 2025 season. We proved in 2024 with Max and Jacob that we can race at the front in this extremely competitive championship and I know that Oliver, with his extensive experience across multiple series, will contribute hugely to our title-winning ambitions.”

In addition to his Porsche Sprint Challenge GB programme, Oliver Cottam will also be competing in selected historic racing events with his Austin A40 and an early-season programme with details to be announced shortly.

The Porsche Sprint Challenge’s inclusion on the prestigious TOCA package, alongside the BTCC and Porshe Carrera Cup GB, ensures extensive coverage on terrestrial TV and streaming platforms, providing valuable commercial exposure for partners. With a talented team and ambitious goals, Oliver Cottam and Graves Motorsport are poised to deliver an unforgettable season. The 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB kicks off at Donington Park on April 26-27, promising thrilling action as Oliver Cottam and Graves Motorsport set their sights on championship success.
