A slow start at the front of the field shook up the LMGTE field, with the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Rino Mastronardi moving to the front of the field, with the number 77 Porsche of Christian Ried dropping from 1st to third behind the number 60 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Paolo Ruberti.

This was followed by a 7-minute Safety Car period at the start of lap 2 to recover two LMP2 cars, the number 32 United Autosports Oreca at T1 and the number 21 DragonSpeed USA at T14. At the restart the number 80 Ferrari was under pressure from his teammate in the number 60 488, with Ruberti getting ahead in Lap 7 with a move on the run into T1.

The number 77 Porsche and the number 83 Iron Lynx Ferrari of Manuela Gostner were fighting for third, with Gostner getting ahead on lap 12 to make it an Iron Lynx 1-2-3. At the front of the field the number 60 and number 80 Ferraris were split by just over two seconds, with Ruberti unable to fully break away from Mastronardi. After the first driver change the number 60 Ferrari was now in the hands of Claudio Schiavoni, the Italian coming under pressure from Gianmaria Bruni in the number 77 Porsche. At the chicane Schiavoni braked and Bruni ran into the back of the Ferrari, for which Bruni was shown the black and white warning flag. Bruni was now in the lead, just ahead of Matteo Cressoni in the number 80 Iron Lynx Ferrari and the number 93 Proton Competition Porsche of Richard Lietz.

The number 55 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Matt Griffin had also been staging a challenge for the podium but had to pit when the rear right tyre blew out. Cressoni closed the gap to Bruni as the Porsche struggled for grip. Cressoni took the lead in the number 80 Ferrari with 100 minutes left on the clock at T10. The 77 came into the pits to change tyre to try and cure a vibration issue in the rear left of the car. Bruni handed the Porsche back to Christian Ried while Richard Lietz handed the number 93 Porsche back to Michael Fassbender in third place. Fassbender was clipped by the number 66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari of Andrea Fontana and spun at T10. Fontana was given a black and white warning but the number 93 Porsche dropped two places as a consequence.

Miguel Molina took over the number 80 Iron Lynx Ferrari for the final stint, over a lap ahead of the number 77 Porsche of Jaxon Evans, the New Zealander just 8 seconds ahead of David Perel in the recovering number 55 Ferrari. At the chequered flag Miguel Molina took the victory after 132 laps.
