Proton Huber Competition with good performance at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Zandvoort

Proton Huber Competition impressed at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Zandvoort - guest driver Flynt Schuring in particular put in a strong performance on the dune circuit.

The seventh round of the season is behind the participants of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: In Zandvoort, the drivers competed on the treacherous track directly in the dunes of the North Sea coast. Proton Huber Competition entered five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. In addition to regular drivers Sebastian Freymuth, Roar Lindland and Alexander Tauscher, local hero Flynt Schuring and Swede Daniel Christer Ros made guest starts.

While the race took place in glorious sunshine in Zandvoort, the first days of the event were characterised by alternating rain, storms and sunshine, which made it particularly tricky for the drivers. The Proton Huber Competition team's Flynt Schuring, who at 18 is the youngest participant in the Supercup field, coped best with this. Schuring qualified eleventh on the grid.

The youngster produced another firework display in the race. With some remarkable overtaking manoeuvres, he was able to fight his way up to eighth position - a sensational result for the highly talented young driver. Alexander Tauscher was also able to fight his way up a few positions in the race and finished in eleventh place. Swedish guest starter Daniel Christer Ros also put in a strong performance over the entire weekend. From 19th on the grid, Ros fought his way up to 14th position and also impressed in the process.

Sebastian Freymuth had a difficult weekend in Zandvoort. The Berlin started the race from 22nd place and was involved in a collision on the opening lap, which dropped him to the back of the field. In the remaining laps, he was able to fight his way up to 17th place, which is why he was awarded three points by the guest entrants in front of him. Roar Lindland scored his first point of the season at Zandvoort.

‘The whole team is super happy with Flynt's performance here in Zandvoort! Especially after his strong performance last week in the Carrera Cup Germany at the Nürburgring, this was another great display of his talent,’ said a delighted Franziska Lambacher, who was in charge of Proton Huber Competition at Zandvoort. ‘Alex also made the best of a difficult starting position and scored important points. Daniel also put in a really strong performance in his guest start, and we are also delighted that Sebastian and Roar were able to score points.’

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season finale will take place next weekend on the high-speed circuit in Monza, Italy.

The GT3 team from Proton Huber Competition was also active in parallel to the Supercup race in Zandvoort, as the Michelin Le Mans Cup returned from its summer break in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Jörg Dreisow and Manuel Lauck drove the Porsche 911 GT3 R on the Ardennes rollercoaster. Lauck finished the hectic race in sixth place in the GT3 class, but after two time penalties the duo was classified in ninth place. The two drivers and the team were once again able to take important steps and learn a lot during the race on the traditional circuit, which will be very important for future joint projects! The next race in the Michelin Le Mans Cup will take place on 29 September in Mugello.
