Ross Wylie & Redline Racing team up with World famous whisky partner

Ross Wylie, from Thornhill near Dumfries, will contest a full season in the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup GB courtesy of the Perthshire-based award winning Glenturret Distillery.

Wylie drives a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup entered and prepared by Middlesborough-based Redline Racing in the opening races at Donington Park this weekend (22-23 Apr). The Glenturret Distillery is the oldest working distillery in Scotland.

Additional support comes from long-standing, local sponsors AL-2 Teknik UK, a specialised water treatment service provider, and PyroDry, both based in Ross’s hometown of Thornhill.

Ross, who will also race the Glenturret Porsche Carrera Cup car at his “local” Knockhill circuit in mid-August, achieved nine top-six placings, including one outright win, in the 2020 one-make series having also posted impressive results during limited campaigns in 2019, ’21 and last year.

The series is running for the 21st consecutive year and is the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK with Ross aiming for Pro-Am class honours.

Redline joined the Porsche Carrera Cup GB grid in 2003 and has been one of the most successful teams in the championship, winning six Teams’ titles and six Driver’s titles.

Ross Wylie (GB):
Age 31. Born & Lives Thornhill nr Dumfries, Scotland:

“I’m really excited to be given the opportunity to contest the full 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship and it’s all down to fantastic support from The Glenturret Distillery.

“I’m immensely proud to be flying the flag for The Glenturret as an Ambassador at circuits around the UK this year. Hopefully I can reward their amazing support with success in the Glenturret Porsche Carrera Cup car on the track.

“I’ve competed in the series on and off for the past four years but this season I’m racing in the Pro-Am class and with Redline Racing, both for the first time.

“It’s a very competitive series. The cars are identical, all running on Michelin tyres, which often leads the grid to be separated by literally fractions of a second. I can’t wait to get to Donington this week to begin the season!”
