SEEBACH Motorsport triumphs at the Nürburgring

SEEBACH Motorsport experienced a successful race weekend at the Porsche Sports Cup at the Nürburgring. Jochen Kilb and Marco Seebach take the overall lead in the Porsche Endurance Challenge.

Three weeks after the season opener at Hockenheim, the participants in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland continued at the Nürburgring. The traditional circuit awaited the participants in the Porsche racing series with a complete package of Eifel weather. Rain, drying conditions, strong winds and cold temperatures made life difficult for the teams and drivers, making the set-up work more difficult. SEEBACH Motorsport fielded four Porsche racing cars on the traditional circuit. In addition to a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the racing team from Rosbach in Hesse fielded two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in front of the heights. A Cayman without an RS package rounded off the effort of Marco Seebach's team.

Steve Caroli competed in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. With a seventh place in the second race of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3, the 2022 champion of the Porsche Endurance Challenge achieved his best result as a soloist with the new car. In the first race, the real estate entrepreneur only managed eleventh position after one hit. In the endurance race on Sunday afternoon, Caroli and Dominik Schraml had bad luck with the weather conditions and the track position when the safety car phase was triggered, so that it was ultimately enough for an eighth place in class. Schraml proved the speed of the car in the opening phase of the one-hour race: From fifth place on the grid, the former Formula 3 and Formula 3000 driver fought his way up to second position.

As usual, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport with the starting number was shared by Jochen Kilb and team owner Marco Seebach. In the two sprint races of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4, both drivers finished third in their class. In the one-hour Endurance Challenge race, which was very demanding for the drivers and the team due to the changeable weather conditions, the successful duo coped best with the Eifel weather and drove to class victory in the 1c category.

"After two race weekends, Jochen and I are leading the overall standings in the Porsche Endurance Challenge!" says Marco Seebach happily. "After we became champions in our class last year, this was the goal for us this season, to have a say in the overall title. We want to continue in the remaining races in the same way as we did at Hockenheim and at the Nürburgring."

At the wheel of the Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport with starting number #92 was Sebastian Roth at the wheel of the two sprint races. After a fourth place in Saturday's race, the veteran drove to a strong second position on Sunday. In the championship, Roth currently also occupies second place in the class standings after four of 13 races.
For the Porsche Endurance Challenge race, Marc Halusa and Philip Schauerte took over the car. Schauerte drove to second position in qualifying. But the fast driver was hit in the first corner and the driver duo had to deal with consequential damage for the rest of the race. In the end, it was enough for sixth position in the class.

The SEEBACH Motorsport line-up was rounded off by Kai Lausberg's entry in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4 with a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Lausberg made impressive progress in the Eifel, which was impressively demonstrated by a second place in qualifying. In his class, he finished the races in seventh and fifth place.

The Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland will continue in Austria on 13 and 14 July. The picturesquely situated Red Bull Ring is one of the favourite race tracks of many participants of the event platform, so they are already looking forward to the guest appearance in Styria. The track is characterized by its high-speed sections, so that the participants can expect slipstream battles in Spielberg.
