Ammermüller and Jaminet: two masters for SSR performance
SSR Performance is ready for the mission to defend the title in the ADAC GT Masters. The racing team from Munich is fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R for last year's champion Michael Ammermüller and Porsche works driver Mathieu Jaminet, the 2018 champion.
Last year SSR Performance made a perfect debut in the German GT Championship: The racing team immediately won both the driver and team standings. Managing Director Stefan Schlund wants to build on this: “I am very pleased that we will have Michael Ammermüller on board in 2021 as well. After our 2020 championship season, I'm all the more looking forward to chasing the title with him for another year. For the mission to defend the title, I asked myself what type of driver we need, who makes us stronger and who fits into our team structure. When it was clear that we were for Would receive support from a Porsche works driver in 2021, the choice fell on Mathieu Jaminet, one of the best GT3 drivers. Michael Ammermüller and he complement each other very well. The line-up is strong, the potential is high, now we have to start the season concentrated and focused. "
Michael Ammermüller is also confident about the new season: “I am very happy that I can be part of SSR Performance again this year. It was really fun last year. Everyone pulled together and was then rewarded with the championship. In 2020, the feeling before the season was still very uncertain because it was a completely new team. But now we can pick up where we left off. The goal will and must be to get the title again. I think the team and the car have the conditions, we just have to implement it and hope for the extra portion of luck. "
Partner Mathieu Jaminet won the ADAC GT Masters title in 2018 and was then promoted to works driver by Porsche. After a guest start at the 2020 season finale, he is now contesting all races again. Ammermüller and Jaminet already shared a Porsche in 2017 - at the time, however, as part of the Küs Team75 Bernhard. At the season opener in Oschersleben, they managed to win from pole position. "I am very happy to be driving with the reigning championship team in the ADAC GT Masters," said the Frenchman. “During the first test, I was very impressed by the level of professionalism and perfect preparation. I'm especially happy to be on a team with Michael again. We contested the season together in 2017 and so I look forward to the championship with confidence. "
SSR Performance will continue to cooperate with Manthey-Racing in the ADAC GT Masters in 2020.
