Armstrong sets sights on Porsche Sprint Challenge GB title with Team Parker Racing
Team Parker Racing is very happy to announce Matt Armstrong will be competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB for the 2023 season, aiming for the championship title after being in the mix throughout last year.
The Leicestershire-based racer has claimed four wins and eight further podiums across his two years in the series – his first in car racing. Despite a steep learning curve in 2021, he excelled at the end of that season after working with former Team Parker driver Josh Webster.
Matt was firmly in the hunt for the crown last time out, sitting second in the standings after nine of the 15 races were complete, but fell just short after a tough final two weekends at Brands Hatch and Donington Park, meaning he returns hungrier than ever for success.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will enjoy racing alongside the British Touring Car Championship for all six rounds in 2023, meaning it will benefit greatly from increased exposure, live television coverage on ITV, and large trackside crowds across the United Kingdom.

“Last season was good on the whole, but the last few rounds didn’t go to plan, so the aim is to fight for the championship this year as a minimum. I have progressed quite a lot from my first season, which was notable last time out as I scored some wins and, though I tailed off towards the end, this year I’m aiming to be at the front much more consistently.
“There was no consideration of racing anywhere else. The experience of everyone at Team Parker Racing is key and it’s not just about racing, though results are important, as the team and the atmosphere are a big part of the weekends. With these guys they are enjoyable ones, and everyone is really supportive, no matter what the results are. It’s great for the championship to be part of the BTCC package and hopefully that means even more cars on the grid to battle with. I can’t wait to get started!”
