Successful DTM test for Manthey EMA at the Red Bull Ring

DTM

Manthey EMA presented itself for the first time with the two Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting numbers 90 and 91 at the official Test and Media Days of the DTM at the Red Bull Ring. The Norwegian Dennis Olsen and the Austrian Thomas Preining were able to reel off numerous test kilometres on the Alpine circuit with the two latest-generation 911s. In addition to the official test drives in the run-up to the DTM season opener at the end of May, the program in Styria was characterized by numerous media activities.

During the official DTM pre-season test on April 15th and 16th, all participating teams had six test sessions with over 13 hours of driving time at their disposal. Despite the snowy rain on the previous days, the track conditions on the test days were cool and predominantly dry. Manthey EMA used the test runs to gather further knowledge for the start of the sprint race series on the last weekend in May at Oschersleben. The two 911 cars were driven by Porsche contract driver Dennis Olsen and works driver Thomas Preining on the 4.318-kilometre circuit.

"Behind us are two days that were more demanding and more resultful than expected. Before our arrival, we had expected more weather problems and less driving time. Fortunately, that was not the case and we were able to try out a lot of things. The other teams are strong and we still have a lot of work to do before the season starts - so we're all the happier to have had these two test days," Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, sums up.

In addition, numerous media appointments were on the schedule during the two-day event. Journalists had the opportunity to interview the drivers live and in person in the Mixed Media Zones or to experience the GT3 vehicles up close on the Spielberg race track during the Track Safari. In addition, extensive TV and media recordings were produced.

The opening race of the DTM will take place at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on May 27th-28th, 2023. The DTM race schedule holds a total of eight events for all 14 teams and the fans from May to October 2023. ProSieben will broadcast all 16 races live in full on free TV.

Driver quotes on the DTM Test and Media Days 2023:

Dennis Olsen, Porsche 911 GT3 R #90:
"I'm delighted that the DTM season is finally starting again. With a new car there's always a lot to learn, but we were able to take a lot away from these days here at the Red Bull Ring. Together with the team, we now have to continue working on our overall package and perfect it to be able to fully attack at the first race in May."

Thomas Preining, Porsche 911 GT3 R #91:
"We had two great days in Austria. It's always special for me to race here because I have many good memories of the track. We worked through a lot of test points and made a big step in our preparation for the season. Now it's a matter of evaluating everything and then getting off to a good start into the season at the first race in Oschersleben."
