Car Collection starts at the 8H of Indianapolis as part of the IGTC

Premiere for the Car Collection Motorsport team: for the first time in the team's history, the squad from Walluf will be competing in the 8H of Indianapolis. The team will enter a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the endurance race as part of the International GT Challenge IGTC on the iconic American racetrack.

At the season finale of the International GT Challenge in Indianapolis, the Car Collection Motorsport team will be competing in the top GT championship for the first time this season.  At the last IGTC appearance last year in Abu Dhabi, the German team clinched a class victory. This is the goal again this year.

The team's Porsche 911 GT3 R will be driven by the American ‘HASH’ and the two Swiss drivers Alex Fontana and Yannick Mettler. GT3 debutant ‘Hash’ and experienced professional racing driver Alex Fontana are competing together in the International GT Open for Car Collection this season and have already achieved some good results. They are joined by Yannick Mettler, another very experienced endurance driver who has already contested the 24H Barcelona and the 12H Abu Dhabi for Car Collection. He also won the IGTC race in Kyalami in 2023 in the Pro-AM class, in which the trio will also be competing this time.

The Indianapolis 8 Hour will take place from 2 to 5 October. The legendary circuit not only hosts the famous 500-mile Indycars race every year, but has also regularly hosted the Formula 1 US Grand Prix in the recent past.

All sessions will be streamed live on www.igtc.com. The eight-hour race starts on Saturday, 5 October at 12:15 local time, which is 06:15 German time.
