EN: Car Collection starts the season with two cars at the Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi

Shortly after the turn of the year, the Team Car Collection Motorsport is already tackling the 2024 season. At the 6H Abu Dhabi as part of the 24h Series, the team will field two GT3 cars from two different brands. In addition to the Porsche 911 GT3 R with starting number 96, the team will also field an Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II, which will compete under the Goroyan RT by Car Collection banner.

While Central Europe is still firmly in the cold grip of winter, the best racing conditions prevail in the Middle East. As a result, various races are traditionally held in the United Arab Emirates in January. As part of the 24H Series, the 24-hour race in Dubai normally marks the start of the season. However, due to the longer transport routes caused by the political turbulence on the Suez Canal, this race was postponed by two weeks, meaning that the 6H of Abu Dhabi will now kick off the season.

Car Collection Motorsport will enter two cars in this Creventic race. The Porsche 911 GT3 R with the characteristic Car Collection design will be driven by Dustin Blattner (USA), Loek Hartog (NL) and the German Dennis Marschall. The second car is an Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II, which is entered in co-operation with Goroyan RT. The two Armenians Artur Goroyan and Roman Mavlanov will be at the wheel. They will be supported by experienced Audi Sport driver Markus Winkelhock.

Qualifying will take place on the Yas Marina Circuit Formula 1 track on 20 January. The race will start on Sunday 21 January at 10 a.m. and will run over a distance of six hours. As usual, the qualifying sessions and the race will be broadcast live on the 24H Series YouTube channel. The organiser also offers detailed live timing on the website www.24hseries.com.
