Fragustrio starts 2022 season with the premiere of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

Fragus Motorsport, one of the leading teams in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, is launching a campaign for Porsche's international one-type championship, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Hampus Ericsson, Edvin Hellsten and Pontus Fredricsson will start on the Imola track this weekend.

Ahead of the season premiere of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola on April 23-24, Fragus Motorsport announces that it is launching an international venture alongside its commitment to the Carrera Cup. After many seasons in the absolute top of Scandinavia's leading racing championship, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is the natural step, says Robin Hansson, Fragus Motorsport. In 2022, we have a good starting position with three hungry winners in the team who will benefit from this chance to compete against the world elite.

The investment includes regular Swedish drivers in Fragus Motorsport, all of whom belong to the top tier of the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. Hampus Ericsson and Edvin Hellsten - second and third in last year's championship - and Pontus Fredricsson, who is highly topical after this winter's victory in the Porsche ROC Challenge. All three drivers are or have been members of the PCCS Driver Development Program.

Fragus Motorsport competes in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup with the status of "Guest Starting Team", which opens the door for more entries later in the year.
- We look forward to a first educational competition weekend at Imola and have already set our sights on a few more races during this year's season that can form the basis for a serious evaluation. Our ambition is a full investment in the Super Cup in 2023, says Hansson.

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is the sports car manufacturer's international one-type championship that runs on the same tracks as Formula 1, the most challenging competition arenas in Europe, during eight of this year's Grand Prix weekends. The racing series uses the latest generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The same race car that will make its debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia later this spring.

This is a fantastic opportunity, One of the top teams from the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and three of the championship's strongest drivers get the chance to show themselves on the international racing scene. It is a good rating for the work with our driver development program and for the driver quality in Swedish racing, says Raine Wermelin, director of Porsche Sweden.
