IMSA Performance ready to make its return back to endurance racing

IMSA Performance is one of the teams experienced in endurance racing with Porsche. The Rouen team has temporarily put aside the long races to refocus on the Porsche Carrera Cup France.

Since IMSA Performance left the world of GT3, Franck Rava and Raymond Narac have never stopped looking at the different opportunities to come back. In the meantime, the GT4 category has occupied the Rouen team well and it is now the Porsche Carrera Cup France which allows IMSA Performance to keep a foothold in a major championship. Raymond Narac and Maxence Maurice play the leading roles in Pro-Am and Am. With four races to go to the end of the season, all hopes remain to win the 2021 crowns.

In addition to its Cup activities, IMSA Performance remains very active in Porsche Club Motorsport France with no less than 10 cars, not to mention the Classic department which continues to grow after a period of COVID-19 complicated for the world of history.

In the mind of Franck Rava, there is always the desire to regain the top of the international poster: "Coming back to GT Endurance is always one of the wishes. GT3 remains the best option for us. When you see the quality. of the teams present, it is not enough to arrive with a car and tell yourself that you are going to be in front. Most of the teams in place have been there for a long time. "

With the scheduled arrival of the GT3s in the WEC and therefore at the 24H of Le Mans from 2024, IMSA Performance would be well on its way: "Motorsport, and more particularly Endurance, has good years ahead. Le Mans 24 hours would be needed for the prototypes and the same for the GTs. We can clearly feel the enthusiasm. "

At the head of a Porsche Center in Rouen, Franck Rava and Raymond Narac also work in everyday Porsche with evolving mentalities, as Franck Rava specifies: "Today, taxes play an important part in the total price of a sports car. Customers are wondering whether to buy a road car or rather a Cup to have fun on the circuit. In competition, there is a lack of a level for gentlemen. We have a lot of requests for gentlemen riders for endurance races but we lost these races reserved for gentlemen. The Fun Cup is full of entrants but between the Fun Cup and the additional level, there is nothing. GT at a high level. "

IMSA Performance intends to set off again in the Porsche Carrera Cup France next season with two or three cars depending on demand . "We are satisfied with our season with the new 992" , emphasizes Franck Rava. "We would like to drive more in practice, but that requires more budget."
