Podium finish for Herberth Motorsports in GT AM

In the fist race of the The Asian Le Mans Series scheduled over two race weekends in the United Arab Emirates Herberth Motorsport came close to a podium finish in GT-Pro with there #91 car piloted by Alfred Renauer, Robert Renauer and Ralf Bohn crossing the line in 5th place with the sister car #33 of Antares Au, Yifei YE and Klaus Bachler finishing in 10th place. In GT-Am Jurgen Haring, Fin Gehrsitz and Marco Seefried piloting the third car of Herberth Motorsport #99 secured the final podium spot crossing the line in third place.

In a close competitive GT filed the #12 Porsche of Dinamic Motorsport of Giorgio Roda, Benjamin Barker and Philipp Sager crossed the line in 13th place. It was a less fortunate race for #48 SAALOCIN by Kox Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Nico Pronk, Stephane Kox and Peter Kox, who made up ten positions before contact with #77 D’Station Racing saw them end up in the garage and the Japanese team serve a drive through penalty.

The 23-car GT field provided non-stop action, before the #7 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 of Brendan Iribe, Ollie Millroy and Ben Barnicoat took the win ahead Rino Mastronardi, David Perel and Davide Rigon in the #55 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 and the #17 AF Corse of Louis Prette, Vincent Abril and Conrad Grunewald.

The latter held the lead at the beginning of the 4 Hours of Dubai, but a ten second stop and go penalty for disrespect of grid alignment the Italian team saw them lose position and give the #55 Rinalidi Racing Ferrari the lead.

With 100 minutes to go, Ben Barnicoat jumped into the eventual winning entry and overtook Rinaldi Racing for class lead and eventual victory. An intense battle between the #17 AF Corse and Joe Osborne in the #42 Optimum Motorsport for third broke out in the final hour, but the former was able to hold onto the final podium position in class.

In GT-Am, the #20 SPS Automotive Performance Mercedes AMG GT3 of Valentin Pierburg, Ian Loggie and Mikael Grenier dominated to take class honours from Roman Ziemian, Francesco Zollo and Axcil Jefferies in the #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 and Jurgen Haring, Fin Gehrsitz and Marco Seefried piloting the third car of Herberth Motorsport #99 taking third.
