Every year, Race Of Champions (ROC) brings together motorsport's biggest stars in a unique man-to-man tournament. Over two intense days, 20 racegoers meet to find out who really is the world's fastest racegoer, and appoint a final champion.

Since the 1980s, the ROC has been settled on purpose-built courses in world metropolises such as London, Mexico City, Beijing and Miami. Next year, a new exciting name will be added to the list of organizer cities when Piteå, more specifically Pite Havsbad, becomes the new home of the ROC. At the same time, summer hot tracks of asphalt and gravel are swapped for a formidable driver challenge in the form of a sparkling cold ice racing track on the frozen Bothnian Bay.

Porsche Sweden is now embarking on a far-reaching collaboration with the organizer of Race Of Champions and is thus present from the start when ROC inaugurates a new era on ice.

In the Race Of Champions World Final and Nations Cup, participants will compete with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, a factory-built race car with a mid-mounted 6-cylinder 425 hp boxer engine. The car was developed by Porsche Motorsport and is the same car model used in the new Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia racing championship.

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport will also be used for a Celebrity Race during the ROC event. The car offers the perfect combination of performance and precision for all types of drivers between advanced enthusiasts and professional racing drivers.

Porsche is the Official Car under ROC and provides an exclusive shuttle service for contestants and invited guests. The car fleet used for Official Car consists 100 percent of rechargeable car models. For example, the all-electric sports cars Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo, as well as the plug-in hybrids Cayenne E-Hybrid and Panamera E-Hybrid.

"Race Of Champions is a world-class racing event," says Raine Wermelin, Director, Porsche Sweden. We look forward to a rich collaboration where Porsche is involved in developing new competition elements as well as the experiences around the arena.

The collaboration is a natural part of the growth strategy for Porsche in Sweden. The commitment to ROC also includes the Porsche Experience with activities for existing and future customers directly adjacent to the competition arena.

"With a broader model program and cars such as the all-electric Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, Porsche is targeting new target groups and people who enjoy an active lifestyle," wermelin continues.

Previous ROC winners include a large number of motorsport's biggest stars. They include four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel, nine-time WRC champion Sébastien Loeb and seven-time WRC champion Sébastien Ogier.

"Porsche and Race Of Champions are a perfect combination and we look forward to building a long-term collaboration together," says Fredrik Johnsson, CEO and Organiser, Race Of Champions. I am convinced that the many world stars participating in the ROC will be impressed by Porsche's contribution to the event both on and off the racetrack.

The list of multiple ROC winners also includes Swedish legends such as rally world champion Stig Blomqvist (ROC winner 1989, 1990) and rallycross world champion and double DTM champion Mattias Ekström, who has won the ROC three times (2006, 2007 and 2009).

"Porsche's investment in electrification is fully in line with our strategy," continues Johnsson. In the initiative "Champions on the road to sustainable transformation", we bring together industry leaders in order to create a positive impact on the environment and climate.
