Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is contesting two races in the final

The Royal Park of Monza will be the venue for the “Finale Grande” of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2021 next weekend Netherlands and its pursuers. Second in the table, Jaxon Evans, who drives for Martinet by Alméras, is in the most promising position. Despite a gap of 25 points, the New Zealander definitely has a chance, because the 375 kW (510 PS) strong 911 GT3 Cups will be fielded in two races at the Italian Grand Prix: the seventh round of the season on Saturday (September 11th ) and at the eighth on Sunday. There are still up to 50 points to be won.

“Last year I won the Supercup race in Monza. At least one victory is of course my goal for the coming weekend, ”ten Voorde has set out to do. That is exactly what Evans' plan is to prevent. “A lot can happen in motorsport. In any case, I won't give up before that. I have the best chance of catching Larry at all with two wins, ”says the“ Kiwi ”, who crossed the finish line in fifth at the 2020 season finale in Monza.

Mathematically, four other drivers still have title chances. They include the German Laurin Heinrich and Leon Köhler (Nebulus Racing by Huber), who celebrated an impressive double victory in Zandvoort in the Netherlands last weekend, as well as Porsche Junior Ayhancan Güven from Turkey and Dylan Pereira from Luxembourg (both BWT Lechner Racing). The hopes of the Tifosi are on the home team Dinamic Motorsport. Their driver Simone Iaquinta just achieved his best Supercup result so far in Zandvoort with third place.

The title fights in the rookie, ProAm and team classification of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup are also still open. Among the newcomers, the German Laurin Heinrich (Nebulus Racing by Huber), the winner of the previous Supercup race in Zandvoort, is leading. His lead over Frenchman Dorian Boccolacci (Martinet by Alméras) is 24 points. At the ProAms, Nicolas Misslin (Lechner Racing Middle East) from Monegasque as leader of the table and the pursuers Philipp Sager (Dinamic Motorsport) from Austria and defending champion Roar Lindland (Nebulus Racing by Huber) from Norway fight for the title. In the team ranking, four teams still have a chance of first place overall: the Dutch GP Elite team, BWT Lechner Racing from Austria,

The starting grid for both races of the Supercup finals will be determined in a single qualifying session. For the seventh round of the season, the fastest lap of the drivers counts. For the final on Sunday, the second-best time results in the - possibly completely different - order.

“An exciting Supercup season goes into an extraordinary final with two races in Monza. After our first guest appearance at the Circuit Zandvoort last weekend, drivers and teams have to prepare for a new challenge. I'm curious to see who can do this job best, ”said Oliver Schwab, Project Manager Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, looking forward to the“ Finale Grande ”in the international one-make cup with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup relies on Esso Renewable Racing Fuel
When introducing renewable fuels in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Porsche and ExxonMobil are pursuing a two-stage strategy. In the current season, the racing cars are starting with a bio-based fuel mixture. The proportion of advanced biofuel is obtained from food waste products. Additional fuel components are added in order to achieve the required properties in terms of knock resistance and combustion behavior in the final fuel. The second step is to follow in the course of 2022 with the introduction of a synthetically produced fuel (eFuel). With this Esso Renewable Racing Fuel, it is possible to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 85 percent if it complies with the current fuel standard according to the necessary blending (1).
