The Petro-Canada Lubricants Porsche Club Championship with Pirelli and Porsche Classic Boxster Cup fields return to Oulton Park for rounds seven and eight of the season on Saturday July 3rd, and with the high standards so far in 2021 it should be a great race day. Reigning champion Simon Clark heads the points but is under pressure from not only his class one rivals but also class two leader Matt Kyle-Henney, while Boxster Cup pace-setter Will Heslop will be aiming to again show his pace at the mid-point of the season

Clark has taken three wins so far this season in his Cayman S, and two podium finishes at Oulton Park last October sealed his 2020 title, so should be confident of adding to his points haul in the races. Mark McAleer won the opening race at that meeting last year, but a non-finish at Snetterton last time out dented his title hopes and the former double champion is now chasing points.

Pete Morris scored his first win of 2021 at Snetterton and has won at Oulton Park before so will be a factor in both races with his 997 C2S. James Caley’s 997 and Jake McAleer’s Cayman have also been in the lead battles, both taking second place finishes at Snetterton, and the Caymans and 997s have been closely matched so far this year.

Kyle-Henney heads class two, which this season is dominated by the Boxster S and has seen some superb lead battles. Toby Barlow returned to the series at Snetterton with a win in the second race, and Paul Simpson has also headed the class, so the lead battle there should be a highlight of the race. Kevin Molyneux damaged his car last time out, but should make it to Oulton Park.

Andy Muggeridge stormed through to take third in the opening race at Snetterton from the very back of the grid, while Angus Archer took his first top-three finish of 2021 in race two there. Several drivers are overdue podium finishes with Bill Caley one who has suffered from bad luck, while Carl Hazelton would love a strong finish at his home circuit.

Will Heslop won five of the first six Porsche Classic Boxster Cup races, but a non-finish in race two at Snetterton saw a delighted Richard Forber take his maiden class win, and Forber has gained pace race by race in his rookie season. Alistair Nelson has been a podium regular and sits second in the category points, while Mike Thompson has been another front-runner.

Newcomer Pete Evans just missed out on a to-three finish at Brands Hatch so could be worth watching, while Steven Shore has been a consistent high finisher and sits fourth in the points.

After a free practice session at 08.30 on Saturday morning, the fields will qualify at 10.35 before the two races at 13.05 and 15.55.
