The HCB-Rutronik Racing team was founded in 2010 by Hans-Christoph Behler as HCB Management GmbH, whose initials also stand for the first 3 letters in the company name. From the very beginning, Rutronik has supported Electronic Bauelemente GmbH as the main sponsor and from 2015 as title sponsor of the team and establishes the current name: HCB-Rutronik Racing. The team developed through successful use with sports car prototypes to become a permanent fixture in national and international GT sports, which was heralded in 2015 with the first use of an Audi R8 LMS Ultra. Today, the team based in Remchingen, Baden-Württemberg, is one of the largest customer sports teams of Audi Sport Customer Racing in the world and serves a total of 10 GT3 cars of the Audi brand in two championships. Further milestones in the development of the team were the factory use as Audi Sport Team Rutronik at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau 2018 and the entry into the ADAC GT Masters 2019.

In addition to countless individual victories, the success record included the titles of the Sports Car Challenge 2010-2014 and the overall victory of the Avd 100 Miles 2010-2014. In the GT3 class, it has been the victory of the overall classification in the DMV GTC and Dunlop 60 in 2016, 2017 as well as numerous class victories such as the title in class 1 (GT3) 2018. Internationally, the Macau stakes of 2016-2018, which resulted in an 8th overall ranking at the official FIA GT3 World Championship in 2016 and 6th overall in 2018, are particularly noteworthy.
