SSR Performance will race two Porsches in the 2022 DTM

DTM

SSR Performance provides a sensation and names two Porsche 911 GT3 R for the 2022 DTM season. The team is one of the manufacturer's most successful customer teams. After the drivers' and teams' titles in the ADAC GT Masters 2020 and the runner-up title in 2021, SSR Performance is now taking on the next exciting challenge.

In 2021, SSR Performance made a guest start with veteran Michael Ammermüller (GER), which went down in DTM history as the first Porsche outing.

With the naming of two cars, starting numbers #92 and #94, the commitment to motorsport is to be continued. With at least eight international race weekends, the DTM is the perfect stage to stage the Munich-based company.

For the time being, the line-up for the two vehicles remains a well-kept secret at SSR Performance.

Stefan Schlund, Managing Director of SSR Performance GmbH: "After many and long discussions, I am extremely satisfied to have a finished package for the 2022 DTM season. Entering the DTM is of great importance for our young company. This made it all the more important for us to get a powerful line-up with two vehicles at the start. I think the next weeks and months will be very exciting, we can still expect a lot of work until the start of the season in Portimao. However, we like challenges and face the Challenge DTM 2022."

Mario Schuhbauer, Team Manager: "After having made the first guest start of a Porsche team in the DTM in 2021, we are all the more pleased to announce our commitment to this racing series with two Porsche 991.2 GT3 R for the 2022 season. For our still young company, entering the high-class DTM is a logical step with which we want to take on new challenges and build on the successes of recent years."

Benedikt Böhme, ITR Managing Director: "The registrations of the teams for the DTM 2022 are developing extremely well. We are well on the way to having an even more exciting season next year. Porsche is a legendary sports car brand, SSR Performance already shines as a young team with remarkable titles – together they increase the level of competition in the DTM and the attractiveness for the fans."

Frederic Elsner, Director Event & Operations ITR: "Porsche in the DTM – we already felt what that means at the guest start in the Eifel. Porsche has a great fascination. And SSR Performance has established itself among the strongest GT teams in a very short time. This deserves great respect and raises the bar even higher for everyone for the 2022 DTM."
