Successful season start for Herberth Motorsport in Dubai

The 2022 24H Series kicked off from January 13th to 15th at the Dubai Autodrome in the United Arab Emirates. Herberth Motorsport traveled to the Persian Gulf with three Porsche 911 GT3 R to continue the good performances of the past few years. At the end of a long race with many stoppages, the team found themselves on the podium.

"Of course it was very annoying for the whole team that we lost our #91 during the test drives," says Alfred Renauer, who was reported in the accident vehicle together with Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn and twin brother Robert. All the more bitter because the quartet had won the endurance race together with Brandon Hartley in 2017.

Nevertheless, the team from Jederhofen was unimpressed and already delivered satisfactory results in qualifying. Sven Müller, who shared the #92 car with Australians Stephen Grove, Brenton Grove and Anton De Pasquale, secured fourth place and started the race from the second row of the grid. Andrey Mukovz, Stanislav Sidoruk, Sergey Peregudov and Dylan Pereira, who drove the #93 Porsche, started from fifth place in their class.

The 24-hour race, which was often interrupted by Code 60 phases, offered close battles for positions and a lot of action on the track, especially in the early stages. Müller fought for the overall lead for a long time and took it after a good hour and a half. The driver quartet finished the race in sixth place, which also made them the best Porsche in the field. “Since it was the Australians' first 24-hour race, we're very satisfied. They did really well,” summarizes Alfred Renauer.

He was also satisfied with the performance of the Porsche 911 GT3 R from DUWO Racing by Herberth Motorsport: "The crew got through the race almost without making any mistakes and stayed out of the tumult." They were rewarded for this with third place in the GT3 class. Pro/Am rating.

"From our point of view, it was a good start to the season," summarizes the 36-year-old. “We got the best out of this race. We're very happy because we brought both cars home. A big thank you goes to the team, of course!”
