The champion sets new fastest lap in tests at Mantorp Park

Reigning champion Lukas Sundahl showed early great form when the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia gathered the drivers for a roll out at Mantorp Park. With only three weeks left until the premiere at the Ring Knutstorp 7-8 May, Sundahl set a new record lap, 1,16,047. In official contexts, no one has driven a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup faster on the track in Östergötland. - A good time, a good lap, but it is always possible to go faster, Sundahl stated himself.

Lukas Sundahl is usually sharp in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia's pre-season tests. This year's genre rehearsal was no exception. When two days of intensive testing were summed up, the three-time champion topped the results list. As so many times before.
We are very happy. Lukas has ridden well today, very well disciplined, stated the team manager Per Sundahl and added. We have many laps below 1,16.5 so this was no turnaround time. Lukas was satisfied, but stated at the same time. It would have been fun to get under 1.16.

Lukas Sundahl was not the only one who impressed. Many of the drivers in the starting field were noted for their best laps ever at Mantorp Park. Especially entertaining was the last hour before "closing time". Then many personal records were broken. In fact, four drivers were within half a second of Sundahl's record time:
• Hugo Andersson, 1,16,161
• Hampus Ericsson, 1,16,229
• Patrick Rundquist, 1,16,510
• Edvin Hellsten, 1,16,524

Even behind the top five, there were many achievements that impressed. It can be mentioned, among other things, that Lars-Bertil Rantzow was sixth in his comeback and that the premiere weekend's guest driver Fredrik Ekblom steadily improved and reached seventh place in the end. It can also be noted that Prince Carl Philip was less than two tenths behind his teammate Ekblom. I have never gone faster here ever, stated a very pleased Prince Carl Philip afterwards.
