W&S Motorsport name drivers for ADAC and GT4 European Series
W&S Motorsport will compete with Max Kronberg (35/Berlin) and Hendrik Still (34/Kempenich) on the national and international GT4 stage. The German driver duo will drive a new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and fight for victories and podium finishes in the ADAC GT4 Germany and GT4 European Series.
"I'm very happy to have Hendrik and Max in the team," says team principal Daniel Schellhaas. He continues: "Max knows the ADAC GT4 Germany from his guest starts last year. As the winner of the Manthey Trophy in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), he impressively demonstrated that he is fast in the Porsche Cayman GT4. With such an experienced professional as Hendrik as a partner, our second Cayman can certainly fight for podiums and victories in both series. A strong Porsche duo for a highly competitive championship for which we are ideally positioned."
Still is considered a very experienced driver in various GT racing series. A long list of national and international GT3 and GT4 successes reflect its strength. With his knowledge, he should support his team-mate Kronberg and take him even further.
Hendrik Still: "I am very much looking forward to the new challenge and to being part of the W&S Motorsport team. I've known Max for many years and we already did some test drives in his first ADAC GT4 Germany season last season. I also got to know the W&S Motorsport team and immediately felt very comfortable. I already know both GT4 championships from previous years. In GT4 Germany, I have already clinched a number of podium finishes and a victory. I'm looking forward to being back in the GT4 field and I'm convinced that we have put together a strong package of team, car and drivers for 2022."
Kronberg was runner-up in the NLS with W&S Motorsport in 2021 and won the Cayman GT4 Trophy by Manthey Racing ahead of schedule. The Berliner sniffed his first ADAC GT4 Germany air at the races at the Sachsenring and the Red Bull Ring in 2021, where W&S Motorsport clinched pole position and finished all races in the top 10.
Max Kronberg: "It will be an exciting year in two challenging series. With the team and Hendrik at my side, I want to be at the front of the top-class field and develop myself further. Our new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport is a fantastic car with which we can achieve top results. The variety of legendary racetracks on the calendar makes the anticipation even greater."
The ADAC GT4 Germany will host twelve races over six weekends as part of the ADAC GT Masters. The GT4 European Series, which is held by the FIA as an internationally recognised championship under the organisation of the SRO Motorsports Group, will make guest appearances on six race tracks this year, including the 24 Hours at Spa-Francorchamps.
